Alan the Apprentice Aasimar was having a rather unsettling dream, after reading up late into the night about the most dangerous and powerful demons of the Abyss. A terrifying, all consuming void that devoured everything it touched, and was tugging at him... Suddenly, he remembered that Balors could fly, and one appeared before him in a scattering of incense and gems, only to be consumed utterly.

Then he woke up.

That day, the Little Brothers of the Holy Dream were kept busy as the divinations of the highest priests revealed that darkness had suffered a setback. Alan and his fellow Aasimar Zachary were far too unimportant to have anything to do with this, besides whisper animatedly about the incredible power they would wield when they at long last graduated from being willful commoners and became full fledged level 1 clerics!

That night, Zachary, inspired by the day's conversation, dreamed that he was facing a dangerous foe, who had foolishly forgotten that Alan was nearby. Appearing in a befuddled portal of light, Alan accidentally landed on and crushed the terrible Eggplant of Indigestion. Zachary was so impressed by his friend's might that he imagined Alan as a truly transcendent and wise master, before watching him return to his exalted sphere.

Then he woke up.

For some reason, Alan proved himself incredibly more perceptive than he'd ever been before, and attained remarkable holy might from that day onward.

What's really happening here?

As of Occult Adventures, there are rules for the Dimension of Dreams, and they are glorious.

Take a level 1 Aasimar with Wisdom 20 (Alan).

Sleep.

Dream.

With a DC 10 wisdom check, create 10,000 gold worth of incense.

With a DC 20 wisdom check, create a Sphere of Annihilation.

With a DC 19 wisdom check, Gate in a Balor on top of the Sphere.

Get no xp for destroying a Balor.

(There is a risk of Wild Magic, but you're in lucid dream form, so there are no consequences to you in any case).

Take another level 1 Aasimar with Wisdom 20 (Zachary).

Sleep.

Dream.

With a DC 15 wisdom check, cast Planar Binding to bring Alan to your dream in the flesh.

With four DC 19 wisdom checks, Wish for Alan to be wiser.

Let Alan return, as the deal is complete.

Alan now has Wisdom 24, and can dream of you next night.

Enjoy your +5 to all attributes - no loot you create can be brought out of the dream, but inherent bonuses and knowledge are fine.

Possibly wait until you can get the Lucid Dreamer feat, to make the rolls even easier and reduce the risks of wild surges.
