A simple question:
Does the player choose which creature shalll answer his questions?

I'd say no. The way it's written, I don't think the caster even necessarily knows what chose to answer.

I agree with 'no'. I don't think the entity is random- it is likely one somehow connected to the situation or player through alignment or circumstance, but the player herself would be unlikely have have any real control. As Sigreid said, they may not even find out who they contacted.

RAW, I'd say no.

However, I think the spell is more interesting and easier to DM if the answer is "Yes." That is, I'd let my players select which entity they're trying to contact, and I'd set the insanity DC accordingly, and the entity would answer according to its own knowledge. The more knowledgeable the entity, the greater the chance of insanity when it forces knowledge into your psyche like a chef stuffing a talking lobster with bread.
