If someone were to make a guide/handbook for a class that was homebrewed, provided it was under the 3.x system(s), would the guide belong under homebrew design or under D&D 3e/3.5e/d20?

I think you could do either.

Traditionally, guides are posted in this forum. It would make sense to put a new guide with all the other guides, even if it was about a homebrew class. However, there's precedent for guide-ish sort of threads about homebrew material in the homebrew forum. (Like morph's tier compendium. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?245701-Morph-Bark-s-Homebrew-Tier-Compendium))

I think if I were to choose, I'd post here. The success of a thread in the homebrew forum seems to be very hit or miss, you tend to get more reliable feedback and views in the 3.5 forum.

I'm no mod, but so far the line seems to have been that this forum deals with published material while homebrew is for just that, homebrew.

Thank you. I found a homebrewed class I throughly enjoy and as such I am contemplating making a guide on it, entirely or just in some aspect, at least once Im sure it isn't undergoing any more changes.

Mind if I ask what class?

I don't mind at all. In fact, I don't mind giving you a link in this post.
You found it! Now click on it to have a look. (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?443078-The-Shadewright-a-shadow-conjuring-gish-with-multifaceted-archetypes)

Edit: Sorry.
Its the Shadewright. I find it to be satisfying in terms of flavor, something the diverse array of archetypes it possesses only serves to further.
