Okay, here goes:
SA Fighter 1/Spellthief 1/ Swashbuckler 2/Martial Rogue X
Add in a sprinkling of Daring Outlaw...

If only we could mix beguiler in there for Master Spellthief without losing SA dice, we'd be bowling a strike.

As is - and if this is indeed a legit build - We'd be 2 levels ahead SA wise of any straight rogue, 2 Levels poor of swashbuckler, and get a bunch of feats on top.

So, Over a standard DO build, we hand in 1 lv of swashbuckler and generic rogue progression, gain 1 lv of SA, a little BAB and a ton of feats.

So, as I am probably not the first to propose it, what's the consensus?

Your Rogue and Swashbuckler levels stack for the purpose of determining Sneak Attack dice. An 18th level Martial Rogue grants +0d6 Sneak Attack.

Rogue builds are often about picking up various PrC for fun effects. Since each SA die is only 3.5 dps per strike the basic rogue advancement is just used to see if your character has "enough sneak attack." Unless your the 20d6 rogue, who has ONLY sneak attack die and no abilities.

Ideally you will want to have a PrC or two in mind that you will be trying to qualify for like Thief Acrobat or Umbral Disciple.

And never forgot your sword sage level at level 9 for 2d6 sneak attack and and few maneuvers.

I sort of figured there'd be a logical bust like that.

And LastOblivion; with Craven and Sacred Strike effectively rolling d12s for SA damage is nothing to sneeze at...
