As we were playing the other night, a player in my current campain started as a flavoring to the game, chanting some incantations wile performing his spells. We are all anime fans in my group, so everyone enjoyed it I can say.
So I thought of starting this little project, were we post some verbal components for specific spells. I am quite excited about it might I say :)
Here are some samples. Some might take more than 6 seconds to say, but oh well, it's merelly for fun. It is also supposed to be translated versions from Dragonic, or whatever is the primary arcane language in your campain.
If you have your own material on this, or if you want to improvise, I'd be glad to see it. :)
My personal formula is, a small chanting, including a "poetic" description of the spell, then a Rune (used as a "key" to make the spell activate), and finally, the name of the spell. As a side formula, Spells that can be used as reactions and cantrips, use only the key-rune as the component.
Fireball:
I summon thy from Elemental Fire,
A point in that plane and this one,
Come forth, Consume, Propagate.
Kenaz: Fireball
Finger of Death
From Nine hells, through the shadowfell, and to this plane,
A spear that will pierce the life of my foes,
And render them my eternal servants.
Othel: Finger of Death
Lighting Bolt
I summon thy from Elemental Air,
To manifest my wrath uppon the world,
Charge, Cracle, Go Forth.
