I personally believe the number one candidate to be Mr. Linderman (spelling? the casino owner).

It would explain:

Why he purchased Isaac's painting. He was in it.

Why he was conspicuously absent during the episode with Niki and Nathan. He was in NYC murdering and buying paintings.


And it would be an all around great twist as I've come to expect from the show.

Sylar's identity and origins are pretty well explained by the end of episode 10, and we see Linderman fairly constantly after the end of episode 18.
