What's the type of hat with a feather that typical duelists wear? I was tempted to say "Fedora"...but I just don't know. My players are going to encounter one, so I'd like to know the actual name of the hat I am thinking of.
I honestly have no idea how else to describe it lol.

I believe that's probably the Cavalier Hat (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cavalier_hat).

The Cavalier Hat (~17th century) evolved from the Capitano Hat (~16th century)

Uh....yes. I think so. On google search, the rim seems to be a bit smaller...
!
Thank you for point it out! What I saw the hat from was Three Musketeers....I think. That one actually is the one closest to what I was thinking of.

Capitano Hat seems to be correct. Cavalier is close though.
Thanks a ton guys...I doubt anyone will know what a "Capitano hat" is, so I'd need to just show them a picture anyway, but thanks for letting me google the picture.

I think it's more of a "bycocket, or in medieval France as a chapel à bec".

If you want to get even fancier and more loaded down with feathers take a look at some of the Tellerbarrets hats of the Landsknecht.
