Barrons of Doom and Despair

This is Bane's home plane. The main feature is a huge castle with a moat made out of blood, it and a good area around it is dimensionally locked, and it has many strong magical wards and protections on it. It is well fortified, and is manned by a variety of strong evil creatures.

((note: this is a description made up on the spot, it bears no relevance to any descriptions of the plane anywhere in books. Oh, and may edit later.

[Hawkeye]

Merant and Gatecrasher appear a good way away from the castle. Merant steps away from her "Here we are."

[Wukei]

The gate crasher looks up at the castle and whistles. Somebody's compensating...

[Hawkeye]

"He has many powerful enemies. His home has to be strong enough to protect him." a man in a dark blue cloak and two men in black armour approach, flanked by two death tyrant beholders "Ah, our escort has arrived."

[Nevrmore]

((A moat of blood? Damn, you really went all out during Spring Cleaning this year))

[Wukei]

The gate crasher looks them over, but seems unimpressed. Alright, well let's go meet this guy.

[Hawkeye]

Merant nods and the two men in black armour go to either side of her, the beholders next to them. They walk forwards, and push the gate crasher if she doesn't move. Merant and the man in the blue cloak follow behind.

[Wukei]

The gate crasher moves along just fine. She takes in the surroundings, curiously. A small smile plays on her lips.

[Hawkeye]

As they approach the castle, a magical bridge crosses the moat and the doors to it swing inwards. They lead/push gate crasher through them and towards the keep.

((Think the black gates of Mordor in LotR, like that except much thicker.))

[Wukei]

The gate crasher takes in everything. So...this guy...seems a bit of a coward, hiding behind so many fortifications, ya ask me.

[Hawkeye]

The man in the blue cloak responds "As Merant said, he has many enemies, and he takes every precaution to avoid dying. If that means living in a castle like this, so be it."

The door to the castle closes behind them and the bridge disappears. They lead her into the main chamber in the keep.

[Wukei]

She looks at the one speaking to her. If he has so much power, 'ts obvious with his minions, why does he fear death so much?

[Hawkeye]

"Because he has already died once, and it took some time for him to be resurrected. Now hold your tongue or it'll be cut out."

They stop her and wait.

[Wukei]

She grits her teeth and waits, quietly. She reaches in her pocket to feel her keys, they were obviously a comfort to her in this situation.

[Hawkeye]

After a time a man dressed in black approaches and stands about 50 feet away from her. He studies her up and down "Now what have we here? Or should I say, why are you here?" Bane casts discern lies (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/discernLies.htm) and waits for an answer

[Wukei]

The gate crasher replies, Yer boy here says my abilities may be useful.

[Hawkeye]

Bane looks at Merant "No, she has something that might prove very useful."

[Wukei]

See there? Now, yer boy mentioned something about money.

[Hawkeye]

"Money can be arranged, first, what is it and what can it do?"

[Wukei]

She draws out her keys and pokes one in the air and turns. Nothing happens. 'ere now! If ya wanna know what I can do I can't have ye blockin' me abilities!

[Hawkeye]

Bane looks very displeased "I repeat, what is it and what does it do."

[Wukei]

They're keys. They unlock planes. Other cities on this world. Wher'ver I've mapped.

[Hawkeye]

Bane nods "Very good, that's a fine item. What do you want in trade for it?"

[Wukei]

They don't trade. These keys mean absolute bubkiss without me.

[Hawkeye]

"Are you absolutely sure of that? Choose your answer wisely."

[Wukei]

The keys ain't the power, Bub. Ever 'eard of a Gate Crasher? S'what we do, not the keys. S'like asking a barbarian to cast Ressurection if ye take the keys from me.

[Hawkeye]

"Fine." he looks at her sternly "Congratulations, you're about to become employed by us."

[Wukei]

S'fine by me. 'Long as it pays well.

[Hawkeye]

"Oh, you'll find it doesn't pay at all. You really thought you'd get out of here with that item? I want it and I'll get it."

[Wukei]

She looks around at the group. Ya gotta be kiddin' me...yer gonna try ta force a gate crasher ta work for ya?

Sorry for bein' so rude, but ya were better off offerin' me money for my services.

[Hawkeye]

She feels a very large slap across her head Bane snarls at her "You're in the prescence of a greater God! I'll take what I please! And believe me, I will have that item, and if I have to have you as well that will be done."

[Wukei]

She draws a pair of longswords, both etched with runes. All right, Hon. Ye just slapped the wrong woman.

She spins on Alex, first. Catch, Alex. Hoping that knowing his name might stall him for the split second she needs, she stabs straight at his chest.

[Hawkeye]

mAlex hears his name and fumbles with the thrown sword, which clatters to the ground. Merant draws two swords and approaches Gate Crasher. Bane casts a divine shield between him and the longsword to deflect it. He crosses his arms "Wrong move girl."

[Wukei]

She growls, backing away. I'm not one to be taken so easily. She draws a gun and fires at Merant.

[Hawkeye]

Merant takes the shot in the shoulder and it stops him making an attack. mAlex doesn't pick up the longsword, instead he creates a katana made of ice and moves into a position where he can step in to attack Gate Crasher if she tries to attack Bane. Bane narrows his eyes, dismisses the shield and casts a disintegrate at her.

[Wukei]

She winces and stumbles, falling to the ground, heavily wounded. Agh...Bane...you bitch...

[Hawkeye]

"Did you really think you could come to my plane and attempt to attack me? You're even more of a fool than you look."

[Wukei]

Well...attacking you here wasn't my first plan... She pushes herself up off the ground, though she's severely injured.

[Hawkeye]

Bane snorts "A mortal attacking a greater God...do you know how many times that's been attempted? Do you know how many times that's succeeded?" he points to two men in black armour "Search her for other weapons." they nod and move towards her.

[Wukei]

There are a few potions and a flintlock on her. She growls, looking on the floor where the one sword was thrown at Alex to distract him. She attempts to tumble and grab it.

[Hawkeye]

She does succeed in that, Merant and mAlex flank her and are ready to attack if she moves towards Bane. Bane sees her move and casts hold person on her.

[Wukei]

She's about to slice down Merant when the hold person takes ahold of her. She growls, her eyes once again on Bane.

[Hawkeye]

"You two" he points at the men in black armour again "Time for her to be...disciplined. Take her downstairs." they approach her again and attempt to carry her.

[Wukei]

She attempts the will save but fails miserably. She grimaces. Stupid...should have kept the periapt...No...Hawkeye'll definitely need it...

[Hawkeye]

The two men take her downstairs.

[Wukei]

Vala (yea, thanks so much for asking her name...) shifts in her chains, pulling away from the wall as she transforms into Wukei. The chains are a bit tighter on her wrists, cutting into her wrists slightly. She grows in height, but thins a bit. She tries to pull on the chains, without success.

[Hawkeye]

One of the men in the room notices the change. He has a brief, quiet discussion with the others and then one of them goes upstairs. After a short while Bane comes down into the room, a divine shield around him. He snorts "You did say that you wanted to kill me the last time we spoke in Town, but this is just goddamned ridiculous."

[Wukei]

Wukei smiles a bit of a helpless smirk and shrugs as well as she can in her current predicament. Well, I am a persistant person. I figure it's your fault I got another mess on my hands, so I have an even better reason to kill you. After all, I got what I wanted from you when you killed Hawkeye.

But then I had a little issue elsewhere. So I figured I'd take care of the smaller problem, she motions to him, first.

[Hawkeye]

Bane chuckles "Well you've made a complete mess out of that. I'm currently deciding what to do with you..." he gives an evil smile at her "We've got a lot of ways to keep you occupied in an unpleasant way."

[Wukei]

Wukei shrugs. I'm pretty good about taking pain, Bane. Torture nor death really bothers me...

[Hawkeye]

"You might be, be what about your "husband"? How well do you think he will take it?"

[Wukei]

Wukei narrows her eyes and tugs at the chains with renewed vigor. You leave him out of this. She sighs, looking away, snarling. He wanted to leave you alone...just return the favor.

[Hawkeye]

"You have to pay for what you attempted to do...and that means he pays as well. It's funny, if you had begged for mercy before I might have shown leniency for you...but not now. You're my prisoner, and you'll remain as such until I see fit."

[Wukei]

Wukei looks him straight in the eyes. Lookit me. I'm mortal. It's pretty obvious that the only strengths I had I had during my deityhood.

So I'll make you a deal. I really am a gate crasher. You leave Hawkeye alone, you get my free will, which means access to any plane you could dream of.

And don't think that's a useless offer. Unlike before, I really can't fight anything against my willpower. I never was good with will saves.

[Hawkeye]

Bane laughs "I will have to anyway after time. I have patience, and you need to learn some sort of respect before I have your will."

[Wukei]

She smiles wickedly, You don't know humans very well. At least, you don't know me. If you kill Hawkeye, there's not a chance in Hel you're getting my abilities. My free will has a way of biting people in the ass.

[Hawkeye]

"If I kill Hawkeye I'll kill you. That's not going to happen."

[Wukei]

If you touch Hawkeye I'll destroy my keys. Don't think I can't!

[Hawkeye]

"I have no reasons too...yet. And I'm hurting him as long as I have you down here." Bane smiles and casts harm (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/harm.htm) on her to prove the point, but making sure he doesn't kill her with the damage dealt.

[Wukei]

Wukei gasps in pain and her head slumps from the weakness in her body. I'll...get out of this...and when I do... Her purple eyes meet his, though they seem tired. You'll get every single pain back, tenfold...before I kill you.

[Hawkeye]

Bane laughs "I'll like to see you try...oh wait, I already have. You're pathetic."

[Wukei]

Wukei shrugs, trying to smile confidently, though she looks in rather poor shape. Perhaps...but I'm alive...through all adversity.

[Hawkeye]

"That's only because you've been resurrected countless times." he smirks "You look rather tired."

[Wukei]

Wukei sneers back, though it's hard for her to even keep her gazy on him. Ah, don't worry...I bounce right back.

[Hawkeye]

"Not in here you won't. This is my plane, I make the rules. And it quite clearly states in the rules "Bane wins"."

[Wukei]

She smirks. Then...I suppose I'll just have to, she winces as she attempts shifting a bit, sure that the shackles have cut into her wrists enough to cause sores, if not a bit of bleeding, get you onto one of my planes.

[Hawkeye]

"Planes? You haven't got any planes mortal. And you still think you'll get out of here."

[Wukei]

She doesn't sneer, nor have the strength to smile anymore. Her eyelids feel like they way a ton a piece. I have keys to any plane...I'll find one I can kill you on... Her speech gets slower as she says this, and her eyes blur a bit. The adrenaline she had before was gone, and she was definitely feeling the effects.

[Hawkeye]

"You're still in the delusion that you will leave." he steps towards her and lifts her chin up with a gauntlet on his hand "Let me make this clear, you will not leave until the end of your pathetic life." he attempts to backhand her, with not enough strength to kill her but plenty to extremely painful.

[Wukei]

Wukei, unable to avoid the hit, is knocked out cold by the backhand. Her chin falls to her chest, her head lolling to one side just a bit. It doesn't take long for a bruise to start forming.

[Hawkeye]

Bane snorts and walks towards the exit of the room. He turns his head at the exit "When she wakes up give her more treatment, and try not to be sloppy this time. And of course keep her alive, I'm not through with her by far yet." he leaves the room.

[Wukei]

Wukei's body tenses for a moment, as though trying to fight something, before it lets out a final gasp, dying.

[Hawkeye]

The people in the room look at each with an "oh bugger" expression. Just as an argument over who's fault the death was Bane strides into the room. He looks at the dead body and turns to the group of people "I said I wanted her alive."

One of the minions speaks up "I know sir b-" he then disintegrates to a pile of ash. Bane looks at the rest of the people and slowly one by one they end up with the same fate.

Bane clenches his fists, takes the key chain from Wukei's dead body and leaves the room, leaving one of the other minions to clean the room up and dispose of the dead body.

[Wukei]

Wukei approaches the fortress, tucking the periapt under her shirt. She seems a bit nervous as she approaches.

[Hawkeye]

The doors remain shut and the bridge doesn't appear as she approaches.

[Wukei]

Bane! Merant! Alex! she calls, as loud as she can. Get your lazy asses out here!

[Hawkeye]

A winged devil appears about 30 feet above the ground near Wukei "What do you want mortal?"

[Wukei]

She glances at the devil. Nothing. That's the problem. I need to speak with Bane.

[Hawkeye]

"He is too busy to deal with mortals. But I'm feeling generous, give me your name and I'll pass it on. He might see you, but probably not."

[Wukei]

Wukei smiles. Oh...he'll see me. The question is whether he'll kill me before he let's me speak. Name's Wukei. Captain Wukei Shipmaster.

[Hawkeye]

The devil nods and then flies away.

After a short the doors open and Bane walks out, on the other side of the moat "Ah, Wukei, we meet again. What do you want?"

[Wukei]

Wukei glares at him, What did you do to me?

[Hawkeye]

"You're going to have to be more precise than that girl."

[Wukei]

Hawkeye is back to normal. She winces, but she's going to have to say it out loud. Why don't I have any willpower?

[Hawkeye]

Bane snorts "So you come all the way here, risking it all, just to ask that question? Well the simple answer is that I haven't done anything of the sorts to produce that kind of effect. If I was going to change that, it would be chained to my will"

[Wukei]

Wukei seems very concerned by the new information. But...that's impossible...every mortal has some kind of will! She winces and nearly reaches to her side, but tries to hide it.

[Hawkeye]

Bane shakes his head "I had so many plans for you, but you are too much trouble for me to control. Too disobedient. In this mortal shell you're pathetic."

[Wukei]

Wukei makes a face that states that she knows something he doesn't. Instead of speaking her mind, however, she turns and begins to walk away.

[Hawkeye]

A shield appears in front of Wukei. Bane growls "How dare you turn you're back on a God!"

[Wukei]

Wukei glances back at him, rather nonchalantly, I thought we were done here.

[Hawkeye]

The bridge appears and Bane strides across it at a godly speed and stops about 50 feet away from Wukei "You still have to pay for wasting my time."

[Wukei]

Wukei raises an eyebrow. Meh... she shrugs.

[Hawkeye]

Bane narrows his eyes at her and casts harm on her.

[Wukei]

Wukei twitches, but doesn't make any move to attack. I don't want to fight you, Bane. I can't want to fight, anymore.

[Hawkeye]

Bane snorts "Then there's no point fighting. No fun." he turns and walks back to his castle, halfway there he states "Oh, I let my proteges have a run around by the way."

[Wukei]

Wukei narrows her eyes as she tenses. Pain surges through her as she draws her flintlock and fires at him.

[Hawkeye]

The shot hits Bane in the middle of his back. He growls, spins around and casts a hold person on Wukei.

[Wukei]

The hold person works without resistance. Wukei growls at him.

[Hawkeye]

Bane glares at her and clicks his fingers. Two men in black armour run up out of the castle up to Bane "Take her inside. Again." the men nod and approach Wukei to pick her up.

[Wukei]

Wukei can't fight, either the hold person or the men. She growls at them, but that's about it.

[Hawkeye]

The mean carry her back to the castle, with Bane following not far behind. They dump her in the room in which she was in, and died, before. Bane looks to the men again "Strip her of everything except her clothes. I don't want any tricks."

[Wukei]

Wukei twitches as the periapt is removed. The only other things on her are her keys and her weapons.

[Hawkeye]

"Leave us. Now." the men nod and leave the room with Wukei's equipment. Bane drops the hold person.

[Wukei]

Wukei takes a step back. Where is Hawkeye?

[Hawkeye]

"That is none of my concern yet, I'll get round to him later, if he's still alive."

[Wukei]

Wukei snarls, Not much use to you if he's dead, is he?

[Hawkeye]

Bane shrugs "If he's dead he's dead. It's only a minor annoyance in the long term. Much like you."

[Wukei]

What do you want, Bane? Wukei looks rather tired, either with the conversation or just in general.

[Hawkeye]

"Your death so I can get back to planning the expansion of my empire on Faerun." he smiles evily and casts another harm on Wukei

[Wukei]

Wukei winces, kneeling, looking very worn. You're...such an idiot...

[Hawkeye]

Bane lifts up her chin with the hand which is in his gauntlet "Tell me, why is that?"

[Wukei]

Wukei doesn't give him any sort of expression. Why should I tell you? Go ahead...kill me.

[Hawkeye]

Bane smiles "I will, after time." he casts an inflict critical wounds on her

[Wukei]

Wukei winces, she seems nauseous. She holds herself up off the ground. You're so lucky I can't fight back.

[Hawkeye]

"And you'll do what? Punch me? I'd like to see that." he then casts an unholy blight on her

[Wukei]

Wukei collapses on the ground, clenching a fist.

[Hawkeye]

Bane smiles "What, no witty comeback?" he casts another harm on her.

[Wukei]

(Damn stupid 1 hp limit thing...)

Wukei glares up at him, trying to push herself up without success. Get it over with already...

[Hawkeye]

Bane smiles again and casts an implosion on her.

[Wukei]

Wukei's body collapses in upon itself.

[Hawkeye]

Bane shakes his head and clicks his fingers, to which a man appears from a side room "Clean up the mess, and send word to Merant that I may have spoiled his fun." Bane walks out of the room again, leaving his minion to carry out his orders.
