I am building a Kensai Magus. I am taking a level of Dawnflower Bard for the Dervish dance at level 1.
Initially I thought that the Bard's Armor proficiency (and no spell failure) would transfer to the Magus. I wasn't sure, so I posted in the rules section of the Paizo board. I was told that the bard Class feature would not transfer to the Kensai. I was told about the two armors that have zero ASP and that they would work fine with the Kensai.

Is this a common sense thing that certain Class features don't transfer over to other classes (without GM approval)?

Thanks

This is a niche thing. As the feature in question that bards gets only applies to bard spells. Other things usually work cross class unless called out to be class specific (like the bard armor thing).

A bard can cast bard spells while wearing light armor and using a shield without incurring the normal arcane spell failure chance.
