Ancestral Wisdom (Divine) - FoE - spend a Turn Undead Attempt you get a +4 sacred bonus to any one skill, and treat it as trained in that skill and can take 10 even if rushed for a limited time.

Of Special Note

Initiate of Shar - City of Splendors: Waterdeep pg 144-5 - adds bluff and hide and several spells, must be able to cast 1st level divine spells and patron deity Shar according to the text on pg 145.
Now according to the table on p 144, you add Knowledge (arcana) and Knowledge (dungeoneering), several new spells, must be Blackguard level 1 or cleric level 3 with patron deity Shar.

And it should be noted that according to the primary source rule, text trumps table, so the text version should be used.

Initiate of Shar was also printed in Champions of Ruin, and there both text and table agreed on Bluff/Hide and prerequisites.

Although this might well be considered invalid since Champions of Ruin was from May 2005, and City of Splendors: Waterdeep is from July 2005

Several races gain class skills. Bhuka and Uldra always have Knowledge (Nature), Illumians and Changelings always have Speak Language, and Silverbrow Humans always have Disguise, off the top of my head.

Are you going to update the list? Not much point in having it sorted if you gotta read through the entire thread anyway.

I only know this because of the borked entry reqs of Fiend-blooded, a PrC designed for Sorcerers that a straight Sorcerer cannot enter without some finagling.

Yes, as does Planar Barbarian. I fixed a couple more omissions also. I've ported over and taken up maintenance of the Alternative Class Features thread (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?444354-3-5-Alternative-Class-Features-%28ported-from-Wizards-community-boards%29&p=19852965). The original style was rather freeform, and the problems here were the difference between "add <whatever> to class skill list" and "add <whatever> to class list"; when I searched for "skill" I failed on the latter type entries.

Edit: We're still missing skills from class variants, like Cloistered Cleric. Maybe I'll get to those this weekend.

yes I plain on updating it with missing info as its found and provided, probly starting in 20 hours or so, Friday is my long day at work and in a couple hours I continue work on my deck, so not much time till the wee hours of sunday

Since we are in official 3rd party Kingdoms of Kalama has the Skill Prodigy feat, which gives you class skills equal to your int mod every time you take it.

I found it, fell asleep before I could get back, also found another feat while I was there, Scholar, better version of Education, posted it in the first post
made a new section specifically for KoK stuff at the bottom of the feats stuff, with Curmudgeon's note about it

There is, a feat, in Dragon Magazine #326, on p.80, called Flexible Mind.
It has no prerequisites and straight up lets you make any 2 skills, you have at least half a rank in, class skills. (And gives +1 in both.)

The only "catch", if you can call it that, is that they are [Anarchic] feats(sort of like [Exalted], but for the chaotic end of the alignment spectrum).
There's some vague RP implications and the fact that you now radiate an Aura of Chaos.

Ancestral Wisdom(Divine) - Faiths of Eberon - while it doesn't exactly give you ranks, by spending a Turn Undead Attempt you get a +4 sacred bonus to any one skill, and treat it as trained in that skill and can take 10 even if rushed for a limited time. so worth mentioning IMO as way to get what you need in a pinch at least

Dungeon magazine 88 p. 104 features "Yenejg Togan's Planar Syllabus", which grants actual ranks in Knowledge (the planes). In fact, anyone who has read the book and has sufficient knowledge (the planes) ranks, the scrybe scroll feat, and the ability to cast Contact Other Plane and Legend Lore can just make one of these. Reading one takes 3 days, consumes the writing, and then grants half as many ranks as the creator had. Cost is 500 gp per rank conferred.

The existence of this thing is arguably the biggest insult to the skill-rank system in game.

doesn't specifically say druid only in the requirements, just merely that you need to have spontaneous summon natures ally, which is a druid feature, but if you have a way to meet the requirement, then your all good

but for the sake of completeness, it must be added to the list, like the sovereign archetypes, true dragon only is a requirement, if you don't meet the requirement, then you cant have it

The Enchanter Variant in UA (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm#socialProficiency) gives Bluff, Diplomacy, Gather Information, Intimidate, and Sense Motive to specialist Enchanters. They lose Wizard bonus feats.

The Diviner variant gives Sense Motive as part of the ability they lose Familiar for.

Initiate of Shar - City of Splendors: Waterdeep pg 144-5 - adds bluff and hide and several spells, must be able to cast 1st level divine spells and patron deity Shar according to the text on pg 145.
Now according to the table on pg 144, you add Knowledge(Arcana) and Knowledge(Dungeoneering) and several new spells, must be Blackguard level 1 or cleric level 3 with patron deity Shar.

I could find no errata for this, but if some surfaces somewhere I will update it. And it should be noted that according to the primary source rule, text trumps table, so the text version should be used.

And as far as an alphabetical list of skills with each way to get, would double the size of the original post, and I like the way its broken up with the type of way to gain the new skills. its already listed in alphabetical order of skills for most of the posts.

granted power gives you Use Magic Device as a class skill, and if you had bought ranks in Use Magic Device or Use Psionic Device at cross class prices you get a bonus in skill ranks as if it was originally a class skill

not sure how to classify this, its limited on how to gain it, and goes against the OP of the original thread, that would prefer to stay away from multiclassing, but it is an interesting item
and I'm sure abusable with a single level dip, especially since it gives you more ranks, and there is nothing I've so far seen with a way to get Use Psionic Device in it

I think you should ignore the table for Initiate of Shar as text trumps table, and it appears the other way in CR. It's pretty clear the table is simply in error.

Skilled City-Dweller is missing from the alternate class feature section. It can give any class Gather Information (instead of Handle Animal), Knowledge Local (instead of Nature), Sense Motive (instead of Survival), and/or Tumble (instead of Ride). Voice of the City is also missing--gives Speak Language, works for Druid, Ranger, or Spirit Shaman. Also, you should consolidate the variant classes with the alternate class features. Variant classes are really just ACFs.

RHD are always associated with class skills, unless the creature in question is mindless and has no skills at all. You can see them listed in a monster's "as characters" section. (Examples: Bugbear (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/bugbear.htm), Centaur (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/centaur.htm), Minotaur (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/minotaur.htm).)

The general rule is that any skill mentioned in a creature's statblock is a class skill for that creature's hit dice.

Monster characters treat skills mentioned in their monster entry as class skills.

I see what your saying, but it doesn't go right out and say those skills are class skills for the RHD levels, or always class skills. Then you go and and have races that say they get class skills, have no racial HD but doesn't come out and specifically say always a class skill

at the moment I'm of the belief if it says class skills under race, they are always class skills, BUT I'm not sure if that's correct. Its not something I've given much thought too till this thread. RHD does give skill points for specific skills as class skills, but hopefully you can see where some confusion can be had in how its listed in various places

to start with, I agree its hard to read and noticed it earlier. It originally was only a handful from UA, but then we found a ton more in the pages of Dragon. a lot of them also say eliminate this and gain that, so its a lot of repetitive information, and I'm at the point that I'm worried about running out of room. This was one of my first mirrors and didn't think to leave extra room, like I did in many of my other mirrors.(I really didn't know what I was getting into, LOL)
and the reason these are not in ACF section is they are not ACFs or substitution levels, they are actually variants on the base class, but I did move several that was listed as variant classes, but are really ACFs

Enchanter Variant - Social Proficiency (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm#enchanterVariants") gain Bluff, Diplomacy, Gather Information, Intimidate, and Sense Motive while losing wizard feats every 5 levels
Diviner Variant - Enhanced Awareness (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm#divinerVariants) add sense motive and other bonus's while losing familiar
Illusionist variant - Shadow Shaper (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm#shadowShaper) Adds Hide

those belong in the ACF section, despite how they are listed in the SRD

and thanks for the table, I didn't know how to make them, I think that would confuse me trying to do that, but it did come in handy, I used to reformat the skilled city dweller ACF from the format it was in to a table, looks nicer that way IMO

I'm thinking take the race section, move it to a new thread, put a link there, then I can expand the race section with class skills specifically for RHD

* Remove the d20 Modern and d20 Rokugan sections, they're not for D&D 3.5
* Move Skilled City Dweller into the main body, it doesn't need its own section. Likewise for the Favored Soul dead levels.
* Remove the quotes at the end.
* Put Initiate of Shar in the main body instead of a quote. Don't worry about the text/table error. The text is correct. There's even a second printing of it to corroborate it.
* Remove the mentions of Jack of All Trades, Elf Dilettante, and Ancestral Wisdom as "honorable mentions." They don't add class skills so they don't need to be here. (Able Learner is okay though.)
* You don't need to say which classes get mantles.

your right about the d20 modern, got ride of that, and the Rokugan d20 quote I thought was from the OA book, I just never got around to checking, it must be from one of the other books, which would be 3rd party

worked in the last of the quotes except the last one, its an item and does add skill ranks

finally fiqured out how to incorporate the skilled city dweller and it saved a few characters, and apparently the link was broken, fixed that, did the same with the favored soul

I like Initiate of shar how it is, pointing out the error, let people decide for themselves how to deal with it

and I like the honorable mentions section

it took a little bit of editing, but saved tons of room, I abbreviated most of the sources, to the standard abbreviations ToB for tome of battle, RoD for races of destiny, etc etc, that gave me the room to finish

I believe every source has been checked, except living greyhawk gazeteer, which I don't yet own till it arrives from amazon in a couple days, lol
unless someone finds an obscure websource or something other odd thats been over looked, I believe we are complete, thankfully cuz there aint much room left, lol

And thanks to everyone that has helped, only took a few months since I ported it over and almost ten years from the original post to complete, LOL

Accidentally stumbled on another feat following a link from another forum:

Appraise

Appraise Magic feat - online (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sg/20051125a)

*It is presented alongside an alternate skill system for identifying magic items, so may fall into the same murky area as the Skill Knowledge feat - I believe it works as a standalone feat through, allowing you to use appraise to identify Potions and Scrolls in place of Spellcraft.

The Codex Anathema (LoM p 214) grants an inherent +2 int/-2 wis, as well as 5 ranks Knowledge (dungeoneering) and 2 ranks each of Knowledge (arcana) and (the planes).

we have 2 Items, so I combined them into their own section, it doesn't make them class skills, but flat outs adds the ranks, odd but still fits I think

Also looked at races/templates, couldn't see the Primordial template (Secrets of Xen'drik), which adds one Knowledge skill as a class skill.

Oh, here's a nice one: affiliation with the Paragnostic Assembly grants you your choice of Appraise, Decipher Script, any Knowledge skill, Psicraft, or Spellcraft as a class skill for all your classes, if you achieve rank 3. You have to tithe and pay monthly dues to maintain your rank. (Complete Champion, pp72–74)

Also, an affiliation score of 11+ with the Land of Honor grants you Knowledge (nobility and royalty) as a class skill. (Player's Handbook II, p175)

it really is amazing, only took most of ten years to complete, lol

and added those affiliations in a new section, and the tauric template

had to do a little more editing for room, the first post is pretty much full now, I had to remove the now dead link to orginal post for a little bit more room but added

For me, grabbing Able Learner and getting all the skills you want via prestige classes was the best way. Messing around with apprentice, or various class skill granting feats was a blood bath.

Silverwood Arcanist (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/re/20031209a) (PrC) - Skilled Rider (Ex): any future classes you take after one level in this PrC always have Ride as an additional class skill.

Skills: If the animal didn't already have these skills, it receives them as class skills: Intimidate, Listen, Spot, and Wilderness Lore. All other class skills get lost in the transformation.

Adaptive Learning (Ex)

At 1st level, a human paragon can designate any one of his human paragon class skills as an adaptive skill. This skill is treated as a class skill in all respects for all classes that character has levels in, both current and future. For example, if a human paragon chooses Spot as an adaptive skill, he treats Spot as a class skill for all future class levels he gains, even if it is not normally a class skill for the class in question.

both kinda deserve an honorable mention somewhere, but I'm pretty much at the limit of the first post, ive edited and re edited it several times to save space, any suggestions on working those last 2 in?

That's probably not a bad idea.

Another option, probably a lot more work, is just to create a new thread, port everything over, and reserve yourself two or three posts at the start of the thread.

but its still official material, we even have a couple of KoK entries at the bottom of the feats section, its officially licensed at least

actually it would just be a copy paste job, wouldn't take me too long, that may be the way the go, then I could add anything from the ravenloft books, its officially licensed at least, in its own section, and it would let me add back and expand the monsters with RHD class skills I had started, I still have those saved in a word doc.
we could even expand to 3rd party in a separate section, with big giant warning label to use at own risk, LOL

plus there could still be a few tidbits hiding in the archives we haven't noticed yet
