I have used the OGC to start making my character, but I am not sure if skill points worked the same way as they did in 3.5. I know what skills I have available I was just wondering if there is a maximum I can put into any one skill, and how many I start out with.

Thanks Playgrounders.

It's actually easier than 3.5.

You can have a maximum number of ranks equal to your character level.
If it's a class skill and you put at least one rank into that skill, you receive a +3 bonus (to the skill, not ranks).

And that's it. Ranks cost 1 skill point regardless of whether it's a class skill or not.

As for how many skill points you receive, it depends on your class and int modifier, same as in 3.5.

He forgot one thing. You do not get 4x skill points at first level like in 3.5.

It's actually implied since the bonus 4x skill points at first level are from your class. But thanks for the mention.
