Besides Alchemist's Fire and similar, what are good ways for non-spellcasters to deal with swarms? Our GM is a little too fond of them, and our party is a little too fond of melee combat.

A swarmbane clasp lets melee types beat on swarms to their hearts content. Otherwise use alchemical weapons & similar (splintercloud arrows, etc.), get a caster or UMD-caster to blast them, or run and shut a door between you and them.

Gear:
Butterfly Net: One end of this 6-foot-long pole supports a wide metal hoop covered by a thin mesh net. You can use this to sift objects from material capable of passing through the net, such as sand or water. You can also use a butterfly net to capture Fine or Diminutive creatures as if it were a net (weapon), though you don't need to re-fold the butterfly net if you miss, and you use the handle of the butterfly net like you would the rope of a net weapon. Price 5 gp; Weight 2 lbs

There is a good old Bear Trap (since it isn't a spell it can target them).

If any of the swarms have scent: stink oil will nauseate them.

You could cover yourself with embalming fluids, it says you become unpalatable to most animals and vermin.

Repellent, Vermin: lass 4 hours, Swarms require DC 15 Fort to enter your square to attack you. Normal vermin avoid you.
