What evil lurks in the heart of man? I wouldn't know. I'm the good twin.

These evil twins would be the opposite of the "good"/normal version of the subject, but also probably have their own thing going on.

Please present using the standard stat block style. Be creative, and go nuts with backstory and quirks.

At least he will be attempting to justly accuse me of my crimes instead of trying to falsely accuse me of evil doing. I refuse to go to any court/execution that puts me on trial/execution for a crime i didn't commit though it is surprisingly hard to accurately accuse a person when you don't know the scale, motivation and execution of a crime. Also, i avoid or burn courts/execution contraptions that do get it right.

That could work, but that would pretty much mean making whole characters again.

Also, I think it's good to plan ahead. I'm busy moving and I have to find time to schedule a surgery and show the old place to people who are interested in renting and not to mention class work including a critique of 2 plays and a poem.

See my idea of 'evil' twins is just to build magic robots that look like people.
Less alignmentally motivated than just the desire to see that look of inherent confusion on their face when confronted with a machine that can and will replace them at a moment's notice.

I mean here in the real world if confronted with even a simple Simulacrum of ourselves I reckon most folk would freak the crap out right there on the spot. And Simulacrum are completely docile compared to Mirror Duplicates, Doppelgangers, or Ice Assassins.

That... is almost every one of my EDH decks. And I have about 24 going right now (only one of which is any real good, promise).

I have a similar 60 card casual deck. Clones and Control Magic abound. And only all the best versions.

Radiate + Rite of Replication is my second most favorite spell combo ever.


Heck even in PF I'm working on building a technology lab that's animated, is a robot, and that can Simulacrum itself.

My other decks include a Gods Deck (all 15! Wins by field wiping and poking with gods), a Grixis Eldrazi, a Grixis Clones Thief Exploit, and I'm working on a Grixis Dragons Deck (which is based on a Nicol Bolas discard deck that doesn't really work so I'm taking it apart).

My favorite card is Stolen Identity. I use to run it in standard, with my trusty BU heroics deck. In my EDH deck, Jeleva can spread my love like the plague. As for combos, I used both Ulamogs with Part the Water Veil and a Hellkite Charger the other day. I got 3 attack. On the third I asked how many cards he would have left. Since it was two, I triggered the Sign in Blood Jeleva was holding onto. :smalltongue:

It's funny that I still win games with my roommate's decks... but only by cloning. His simic EDH has a progenitor mimic that's won me every game.

Red Fel would be an Eladrin.

Snowbluff would be a Magma pit.

Unseenmage would be a radiant warrior of colors and light.

Ive got an EDH deck im building that i call Army of the Damned, its a ton of Zombies supported by Demons and Shadowborn Apostles. It needs more Shadowborne Apostles....

Not really but if the deck has any U it gets a Rite of Replication and some clones. So I do tend toward shenanigans more than effectiveness. Best is when I get both, shenanigans that turn out to be effective.

My 'Bolas EDH doesn't work right right now either. Is effectively just Grixis goodstuff right now and I've considered tearing it apart too.

My 'best' deck is an almost completely tricked out Captain Sisay deck. Most fun is my Karador deck built around all of the Apprentice Necromancer-esque cards and my Riku of the Twin Reflections deck that makes copies of copies of copies via Doubling Season and friends. Other than that its a couple of higher end commanders with lower end components and a bunch of theme decks.

We just started a Random Commander League where every month we push the button of the same name on edhrec.com (http://www.edhrec.com/) and then we get a month to build a deck around the assigned commander. We play in pods of four, single elimination with no prize payout. Everybody gets 20 proxies and you can spend half your proxies to reroll, or you and another player can each spend half your proxies to trade commanders. Can spend half your proxies all the way down to one. Duplicate commanders are allowed if they roll that way.

Has been fun so far. Got Dragonlord Dramoka the first month. Built an incomplete life gain deck around her. Lost because nobody at the table had shroud or hexproof and all our creatures got stole by a Control Magic commander (the three cost one from back in the day, can't remember the name.)
Then rolled Maelstrom Wanderer and built a Cascade, Cascade deck around him. Temur is fun to build and I found some cool interactions I wasn't expecting. Lost to Rafiq.
This month I don't have to build nuthin' cuz I rolled Kalia and I already have that built. Is gonna be fun times.

I keep trying to use Stolen Identity but it keeps getting interrupted.
My absolute favorite actual spell combo from an actual game was the time I Radiated a Chaos Warp twice in one game. The first time 2 people quit when they realized how long it was going to take to resolve all those copies and that I got to choose which permanents got shuffled back into their libraries first.
The second time the remaining two players took a smoke break while I resolved copies. The Riku player's field full of tokens wound up winning him that game as they each netted him a new real permanent from his library both times.

It's funny that I still win games with my roommate's decks... but only by cloning. His simic EDH has a progenitor mimic that's won me every game.

Probably not. Unless the chimera can somehow hijack the brain, it's just some fleshy bits without free will. No one claims that a steak is evil even if it does have a tumor and poison in it.

Not really but if the deck has any U it gets a Rite of Replication and some clones. So I do tend toward shenanigans more than effectiveness. Best is when I get both, shenanigans that turn out to be effective.

We just started a Random Commander League where every month we push the button of the same name on edhrec.com (http://www.edhrec.com/) and then we get a month to build a deck around the assigned commander. We play in pods of four, single elimination with no prize payout. Everybody gets 20 proxies and you can spend half your proxies to reroll, or you and another player can each spend half your proxies to trade commanders. Can spend half your proxies all the way down to one. Duplicate commanders are allowed if they roll that way.

Has been fun so far. Got Dragonlord Dramoka the first month. Built an incomplete life gain deck around her. Lost because nobody at the table had shroud or hexproof and all our creatures got stole by a Control Magic commander (the three cost one from back in the day, can't remember the name.)
Then rolled Maelstrom Wanderer and built a Cascade, Cascade deck around him. Temur is fun to build and I found some cool interactions I wasn't expecting. Lost to Rafiq.
This month I don't have to build nuthin' cuz I rolled Kalia and I already have that built. Is gonna be fun times.
That's really neat. I mostly just play on campus with the guys in my gaming club. We have a good variety of players. I usually have to get by on sheer guile and bluffing. :smallcool:

Well, there are many flavors of TN. Off the top of my head, as I see them, there are these four;

Abstained: You are aware of your actions and have decided to take no part in any side (good vs evil, law vs chaos).
Animalistic; You are incapable of making a choice.
Balance; You deliberately stand at the center, seeking to balance your actions between the four alignments and perhaps seek such balance beyond yourself.
Indecisive; You simply do not choose a path and ultimately stand in the middle. Its not so much a deliberate choice as simply not making one.


And, now for their opposites:

Abstained; Your opposite is someone who, likely by no deliberate will of their own, falls under an alignment that isn't neutral.

Well, around where I live (Gulf Coast) there's a bunch of Chinaberry trees, ragweed, etc. and they all have extremely obnoxious pollen. I don't know exactly how much it is compared to the rest of the world, but it's pretty nasty this time of year.

Tex Mex is the bomb. My favorite styles of food (outside desserts) are Barbecue, Latin American Food, Pizza, Korean Barbecue, and burgers. Luckily, I'm living in a state that does all of those magnificently. I've even found a place in Austin that does Tex mex burgers using bulgogi (Korean barbecue, basically shredded beef). So good hnng.

In the upper midwest, we don't really have much this time of year, though spring can be an abomination with all the pine trees, cottonwood trees, so many trees i swear we have tree trees. Oh an the quantity of trees is huge. Anything north of green bay is entirely trees except for a number of cities you can count on your fingers and they are surrounded by trees and usually have more trees in them than most cities have on any of the coasts, and these cities are much smaller. So yeah we got trees, no wonder you guys suspected i was a druid a while back.

Oh and Red Fel darling, could you tell your evil twin to stop being a pain in my butt, i am really trying to make an interesting character concept, at least this is no where near as much trouble as my vampire concept has been.

Allergies can be miserable. I'm allergic to just about every airborne allergen there is; it's why I'm so glad that the steroid-based nasal sprays work so well for me. It's been miraculous living without being dependent on a tissue box and half-asleep from Benadryl that slowly loses efficaciousness with repeated dosings.

I haven't found any of those to work. Benadryl does, somewhat.

But like I said, nasonex or flonase work wonders. The reason they work where others don't is that they're immuno-suppressents. They literally suppress a portion of your nasal immune response. Since allergies are a hyperactive immune system, they tune it back to a healthy level. I recommend asking your doctor about them (or just trying flonase; it's about $60 at CostCo for two little bottles, and a bottle lasts a fair while). They do take 2-4 days to really kick in, though, so don't be disappointed if they don't work immediately.

You see, if there is a big enough explosion, up until nuke territory, then there is only evidence that there was an explosion. No, evidence of what went on there prior to the explosion, not enough evidence about who might have made bomb, and an extreme focus on the area of the bomb and not a completely unrelated area.

Fire and bombs can solve most problems if you are willing to think a little differently. They can also sovle most consequences of using fire and bombs. Keep in mind fire and bombs are not my favorite tools, they just get the job done so easily I don't usually think of using my favorites, cause my favorites can be a real pain to use.

I used the word "gypsy" because that's the word used in the work being referenced, because that is how my own major aquaintance of Roma extraction consistently referred to herself, and because that's the word Sarissa would have used.

A paladin is a thing exceptional, however, the chosen, the select, the one among millions. They are one who press themselves to a code of belief and the service of a cause. The opposite of a paladin isn't a blackguard, those two are brothers, perhaps born of incest, they are so close. No the opposite of a paladin is someone unexceptional. Someone with wickedness in their heart, but without the courage to bring it to true evil. Craven, disloyal, and of little consequence without someone else pushing him, Dan that disloyal pal and town merchant, is the opposite of a paladin.

Of course even the unexceptional, when placed in a position of influence, and pushed by something greater can cause untold evil. Due to luck, happenstance, and circumstance, Dan has risen through the ranks of the merchant's guild to its second highest position, allowing him to do untold harm with his wealth and influence if just given the right push.

Well ok, there's one thing exceptional about Dan. Just how many archfiends he can manage to owe at once.

He strives to be the most exceptional person and serve his cause with ever fiber of his being. He isn't lawful stupid, but he wouldn't hesitate to run into a burning building full of enemies to save a single soul.

Our DM is really great about rewarding players for roleplay, but also really great at giving our rewards a cost. Gallant is currently rocking a large holy avenger and a full +5 plate of armor. The cost is 60% of my income and I'm with the Golden Lions. Praisin' ain't easy, but you don't expect easy when you sign up to be a paladin.

Oh you lucky thing. My current group has an exalted Good Bard with us, boosting our melee damage through the roof with Dragonfire Inspiration and Words of Creation. We basically just need to scratch people and they explode in ludicrous gibs from the bonus damage.

Naturally, since he's exalted good and needs to remain so, we are doing our best to make sure that we accomplish our missions humanely and with as little unnecessary bloodshed as possible, bluffing and negotiating our way through wherene'er possible.

Naturally, with a Bard, a Binder, and a Rogue (and a Wizard), we are quite able to do so.

Naturally, this is means that everyone we meet dies horribly and spectacularly within five minutes of meeting us for reasons largely unconnected with our activities.

Successfully bluff and bluster a prisoner away from her guards? Enemy wizards attack at the exact same time and start through fireballs. Spend a night in a tavern? The innkeeper is brutally murdered by the town guard captain the next day because apparently one of the coins with which we paid had been previously pickpocketed from him. Turn up to defend a town against raiders? Entire place catches fire within minutes of our arrival.

I'm starting to think our next mission should be "just walk into Mordor and lounge around in there for a little while.":smallmad:

You forgot to tell the cake's backstory after it was created up till now.

After the orphans made this cake, its creators were killed and turned into a cake. This was the last cake to be picked, in fact people forgot about it and it sat for years soaking up dark energies in the evil stasis ritual circle. The cake was found and sold but its creators and buyer were all killed before the cake even left storage. A cunning thief found the cake while looting the place. He knew the cakes history because he researched the place before he went to loot like always. After being removed from the stasis field the strange dark energies began to work and the cake enchanted anyone who knew about its existence, it also became extremely intelligent but never lets anyone know because it would rather just watch people die in silence. Only those with the will of a god would be able to resist possessing the cake. It also became unbearable delicious but no one knew this because any who fell under its enchantment would not eat it because then they would not possess the cake. Not yet realizing he would not want to part with the cake he set up an auction. The thief was assaulted on the way to drop off the cake. Everyone in the fight died because everyone wanted the cake. Then IZ42 found the cake, his many deaths made him immune to the cakes effects for the cake's powers just assumed he was undead.

That's part of it. But you're missing another part.

The Yamato Nadeshiko has a strong adherence to a particular set of social conventions, it's true. But remember the other half of the name. A Nadeshiko is a wildflower. The Yamato Nadeshiko isn't non-violent, she is restrained. That's part of what allows her to be intimidating when she needs to be.

The Yandere is entirely out there. Her love, her anger, and all of her sorrow. It's all on her sleeve. She may have a formative past, but emotionally, she has no hidden depths. The Yamato Nadeshiko is entirely hidden depths. She keeps them locked away in an ornate little box, sometimes for very good reason. But if she has a dark side - and many do - it lurks just below the surface, and she is freaking terrifying when you catch a glimpse of it.

The name "Xanslar" is a combination of Xanten (in the Rhineland) and Goslar (the ancient fortress of the Welf family in the Harz mountains).

I once had a room-mate who fancied himself as "learned" and mocked me for using the name "Xanten" in something, claiming that it bore no resemblance to any real name and was therefore "silly".

He was really annoyed when I pointed out it was not only a real place name but the birthplace of Siegfried.

He also objected to the name "Langden", implying it was absurd beyond his powers of description. I never bothered to point out it was from Jonathon Swift.

Sometimes I thought he wasn't as learned as he thought he was.
