One of my players asked me the following question, to which I don't exactly know the answer and thus have come to you guys for a solution.

If I was to build a sorcerer, how do I get one of his spells, lets say enlarge person where I can use it one time every fight without spending an action more the swift?

He didn't specify if it was for our game or not, so lets assume all is valid.

EDIT: well now that he specified I was able to answer it.... is there anyway to delete a thread?

For Enlarge Person? Easy enough, just cast Permanency and there you go.

Huh? I can't even decrypt the grammar of that question. I think Persist Spell is what he's looking for.

For a swift action you could Quicken it — if that's the question ?

It sounds like he wants a 1/encounter quicken spell at no additional cost.

There's the sudden metamagic feats, which can do this 1/day, but encounter based abilities, when it comes to magic at least, don't exist in 3.5

Sudden Quicken is a nightmare though — 6 pre-reqs.

You can also get limited Quicken in other ways, Abjurant Champion for example, and then there are things like Incantatrix.

If he is willing to dip five levels in duskblade, he can cast spells as a swift action per day.

My interpretation is that he's saying the following:

If I were to play a sorcerer, how could I get a spell, in this case, Enlarge Person, to where I can use it once per encounter.

So the solution is probably to gain it as an SLA. Somehow.

Turns out, he just wanted a way to become large when raging. I pointed him towards the Mountain Rage sublevel.
