Looking for some prestige classes that an Illusionist (specialist wizard) would benefit from. Thanks!

Grabbing minor school esoteric from Master Specialist. If you are a gnome shadow craft Mage is a bomb. Shadow Adept is a great one level dip. Shadow crafter boosts shadow evocation and shadow conjuration which is nice. If you are a gnome levels in all 4 are possible. Wizard 3. 4 MS. 1 SA. 5 Shadowcraft. Finish out with Shadowcrafter.

Cool. Any others I should look at?

Nightmare Spinner (Complete Mage) loses 1 lv of progression but gives bonus spell slots for illusions. It strengthens illusions so that they still debuff even when the save is made and bypass fear immunities.

Fear based still, Dread witch (Heroes of Horror) can be worth a look.

If you are a gnome shadow craft Mage is a bomb.
Here is a handbook on how to build one: Shadowcraft Mage Handbook. (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=5638) This prestige class is one of the best options for an illusionist.
