On the thread that was actually about the world, I noticed a number of people wanted the World articles to be continued and finished in due time. Post here if you want them to be continued, numbered please.

I would like as well, if the people who sign would put a link in their sigs, as the more people who see this and learn about it, the more will sign and the quicker the list will grow. Of course, this is optional.

Yes, I understand these - rather awesometastic - articles are low on the Giant's to do list, and that he's not getting paid for them, and that he's going to do them when he's going to do them, but heckdarnit, I want to see what he's got to say about creating Organizations!

23. Don't forget me. They really helped me decide on a theme for my campaign setting that is currently being played. He helped me to really challenge assumptions. In my campaign, the gnomes are shadowcasters, shadow hand swordsages, and rogues who live in swamps.
If he has the time, he should continue them.

I've built a few worlds in my time (out of the leftovers from haircuts, of course), and these articles are things I wish I had seen much, much earlier. They inspired the campaign I am beginning hopefully in a couple weeks, and for this The Giant, I am grateful. I would love to see them finished, so I can point to them when people ask me "How do you DO something like that?"; so I can say "Do it like this: This is awesome."

I know these are low-priority, and I'm fine with that. I'm posting this because the World Builder articles are genius and I want to acknowledge that. Something like this should get published, I'd want a copy on my shelf.

159: I'm loving it... but it's taking too long...

Rich has already incorporated at least 4 items I've been trying to do and inspired me to attempt more.
1) I tried to run a Native based game out in New Brunswick, but I didn't know the first thing about changing spells and class features at the time. Now with the IceMen of "New World" I have that opportunity, not to mention #2
2) I liked d20 modern even before I read the article which Rich changes his mind. Now I'm adapting the SRD stuff I found with Unearthed Arcana stuff and a bunch of new starting occupations I'm stealing from an unrelated historical source.
3) the dualistic religion, ROCKS!!! coupled with merging all arcane and divine magic I'm just reeling... where to start? I NEED SOME GUIDANCE HERE RICH!!! How about bringing this along buddy!
4) ... I can't remember this part... I knew it was a good one though...

Let's keep it up!

163.

I doubt The Giant will finish these specific articles; from personal experience when something of this sort gets shelved for a while it's nearly impossible to come back to it. The concept of this specific campaign setting has probably fermented.

I do think a completed ground-up article series on world building would be enjoyable and informative; I don't know of any that exist on or off-line and one from The Giant would be especially good (since The Giant rocks like that), so I would hope that in the least he might start the exercise over from the beginning. This incomplete section has been immensely helpful for myself in creating a big-picture view of a new campaign world. I'm just running into problems on the smaller stuff. Where's the article with the checklist of what specific shops are a must-have for every town you enter? Or how to lay-out a small town? Or a big town? Or a metropolis like Azure City?
