Hey guys,

If I purchase the SRD (for 15$), will it only d/l to that computer, or will I be able to move it from one computer to another via jump-drive or CD-ROM. Reason is, the guys house we play at constantly has internet problems and we're playing in a few minutes. Can I purchase it on my home computer, then move it to the laptop at his house (which is also mine).

purchase? www.d20srd.com ?

oh, internet problems . . . you might try File - -> work offline. most computers save webpages in your temp folder. try that before spending money.

EDIT- or what the guy below me said.

You can download it for free here: Sage SRD (http://www.pbemnexus.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewsdownload&sid=17)

You can also download it off of the Wizard's website: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/srd35

Yes, I know where it is. If you click on "support the project" there's a place where you can purchase it and download it to your computer so you can use it OFFLINE. I want to know if it only d/l's to one computer, or if I can move it around.

Once you've downloaded it, you should be able to burn it onto a CD without too much trouble...

You can download the simple text from WotC for free, but that doesn't include all the convenient hyperlinks that d20srd has. The downloadable version you can buy here (http://www.d20srd.org/subscribe.htm) presumably includes all the links as the primary incentive for paying for it. I would guess that what you'd get is a set of html files with no technical obstacle to moving and copying them however you like. What the people in charge of d20srd want you to do with the download is an entirely separate matter.

Considering that you aren't paying for the SRD, you are paying for a membership to the site, they probably won't mind a bit. The downloadable one is listed as just a perk of being a member. I kind of like that business strategy, honestly.
