I'm trying to hook up my GameCube to to an old TV, but while hooking up my friend's SNES had it immediately go to the game screen, simply hooking up the GameCube to the TV doesn't work for it. The TV only has a power button, buttons for channels and buttons for the volume. The remote that came with it is broken, save for turning the power off.

Isn't the analog video port generally channel 0?

That's what I thought, but I'm just getting a blue screen, whether the console is on or not. The Gamecube is hooked up properly with the composite cable too, and I'm getting no audio from either red or white, nor video from yellow.

Remote doesn't have a video button? If it does... you need to find a remote that'll work to get you into video1.

SNES used co-ax cabling to connect, right? Meaning like cable tv cable? If so you can just buy an RF modulator, that's a box that you plug your RCA cabling into (red white yellow) and then it outputs via co-ax cable which apparently worked fine with the SNES. SHould cost about 30 bucks.
