Good afternoon, playgrounders!
Ever since they hit Summoner's Rift, the thought of playing a character based on Kindred (http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Kindred) has been on the forefront of my mind. But! I cannot figure out how to make that work. I thought some use of Ranger or Druid for their animal companion would work in my favor, but I'm at a loss. Now I've come to you! Is it possible to build an effective Kindred in D&D?

It's easier in Pathfinder, since the Hunter class is so well-positioned for it.

The problem is that my table plays 3.5, so if I ever actually got the chance to play Kindred, it'd be in 3.5 edition.

Elf Sorcerer/arcane archer/druid

Q: a tumble check followed by many shot or rapid shot
W: your wolf animal companion attacking
E: slow imbued into an arrow
R: death ward and mass cure critical wounds

Is that what you were looking for?

Sort of. I've just been displeased with all my Kindred builds so far. I just did one that was Druid/Planar Shepherd with a Wolf Companion. I got permission to be Deathless from my DM and with Natural bond I "Bought" a Deathless Dire Wolf. It's something.

In PF there's Ghost Wolf (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/g/ghost-wolf) as a spell which you might could fluff as a permanent companion (because the spell lasts for 1 hour per level) - eventually, the duration will be longer than needed.

The problem at this point becomes convincing your DM to allow or transcribe the spell into 3.5, and you'll be set for a thematic Wolf to your Lamb counterpart.

If it's the animal companion you want, the the leadership feat and make your cohort a druid that spends all his time as a wildshaped dire wolf (a dire lion works better because of the pounce attack though). Since they need to have the same or more HD as the animal, make them wild shape into a regular wolf and lion early on.

Now you don't have to play a druid or ranger anymore, unless you want to for some other reason!

I ended up tossing together a Myth-Weavers sheet. This might work, right? (http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=622581)
