Well, maybe not psionic, but point being, I want to play a horde of sentient, fluffy (http://thepunchlineismachismo.com/), chicken-like velociraptors (http://thepunchlineismachismo.com/archives/comic/i-didnt-even-have-a-joke-for-this-week). How do you recomend I do that? How would you homebrew someone playing a horde of fluffy velociraptors as a race?

Then apply the lycanthrope template to said swarm and whatever you want your base race to be.

Alternately, do the same with a murder of crows.

DM: You want to play a swarm of were-velociraptor chickens...
Player: Yep.
DM: You might want to add awakened to those.
Player: Yep.
Make sure that they are awakened.

Make sure that they are awakened.Using the lycanthope template means you keep the base humanoid's/giant's Int. The base creature can turn into a swarm of chickens or into some kind of hybrid...thing...while retaining said Int.

[edit] Just say the hybrid form is a feathered, somewhat humanoid version of one of the velociraptors deinonychuses from Jurassic Park, rather than a humanoidal swarm.

Step 1 : Be a commoner with the chicken-infested flaw.
Step 2 : Find/Be a were-velociraptor (natural?)
Step 3 : Take the Dark Speech feat
...
Step n : Profit !

Make sure that they are awakened.Nah, it definitely reads as the player wanting a Were-Chicken (chicken-like) Velociraptor.

Maybe play a lycanthrope of a refluffed, supersized, Raven Swarm? Awakened Velociraptor Were-Chicken-Swarm should do the trick

EDIT: As an aside, aren't RL dinosaurs pretty much chicken/avian-looking anyway?

Awaken isn't needed if you're playing a lycanthrope.

Nah, that's for the base creature supposedly. Doesn't actually work, though, due to typing. A Half-troll Velociraptor Were-Chicken-Swarm would be the legal equivalent (barring the reskinned Raven Swarm)

Yes. The things in Jurassic Park don't look like velociraptors at all, unless you got your idea of what a velociraptor looks like from Jurassic Park.

Monster Manual III has stats for a swarm of chicken-sized, raptor-like dinosaurs. Page 109. Obviously it's not playable for a PC, but perhaps you could work something out.
