Zman's Arena- Conqus Ren

As you stand at the end of the small dark hallway you can see the Arena before you through the grated door. The booming voice of an announcer can be heard, "Welcome ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages! Today, Conqus Ren tries his mettle in the Arena!!!" A wave of cheers meets his thunderous booming voice...

A horn sounds, the gate opens, and you step foot into the Arena. It is a solid thirty paces square with an open roof, cheering fans can be seen beyond the walls, so can the armed guards that would prevent any combatant from attempting to flee the arena. In each of the cardinal directions lie elevated platforms, stairs leading up to them. Each adorned with a pair of sinister grotesque stone guardian, their palms upheld filled with fire. To the northwest lies a tall platform, to the northwest a patch of broken ground only the surest footed would dare tread, to the southwest, huge stone pillars rising towards the sky, to the southeast another stone platform rises from the ground, and in the center is a small raised platform with a pedestal in its center. You know by pressing down upon the pedestal you will summon for the first wave....

You faintly hear the booming voice wishing you farewell, "For fame and glory! Be bold champion!!"

Conqus readies a Longsword attack and braces himself.
'Guess this is it...' he mutters to himself.
Unflinching and unfazed, he steps forward onto the pedestal.
'Come at me!' he yells into the sky!

Conqus Ren moves forward quickly, not stopping till he was on the platform, his blade read.

As he touches the pedestal four of the closed doors surrounding the Arena open in an instant... and the stench reaches his nose, the putrid smell of rotting flesh...

The two doors to his north, one to his west, and one to his south open and four putrid rotting corpses come shambling out towards Conqus Ren...

Just roll the attack, damage, and potential critical damage all together. Also, specify if you are doing anything with your move action etc. If you can, name the Zombie, I'll add numbers to them on the map for you.

Conqus cleaves the first Zombie nigh in half before landing a solid blow on the second... before the remaining three Zombies rake and bit at him again... and again the flanking zombies rake Conqus Ren...

Have you been looking at the map?? Move where?? It has been updated in detail every round. Which I have to apologize for, the Zombies had been moving at 30' instead of 20 for a bit.

He is currently in melee with the remaining three Zombies.

Conqus Ren lands two more solid strikes on the undead, the first was rather vicious and tests the undead's constitution... and it was no match for the strength of steel...

Conqus Ren makes two more brutal strikes landing true against his foes, but neither falls... and the zombies keep him boxed in... neither Zombie manages to land a solid strike and the statues eerily stare at nothingness...

Both solid strikes land true testing the undead constitution... Conqus delivers a massive strike through the chest of one Zombie capable of felling any man just in time to turn and nearly cleave the second in half... but as he looks back the first the first Zombie despite a wound opening its entire Chest refuses to fall

Conqus Ren against makes savage attacks... And the last Zombie falls unable to stand up to Conqus Ren's brutal attacks..

As soon as the last Zombie falls the Arena suddenly seems less threatening and the crowd can be heard more clearly, it isn't nearly as menacing of a place...


No reason not to roll the second attack.

Conqus moves to the center pedestal, noting how less ominous the arena is, knowing that as soon as he presses the pedestal again another horrific challenge awaits him...

Turn 10 - Action Drinks potion, only 6HP(Terrible!!). At 39/58HP. You still have your move action left, you can activate the pedestal, or wait another round, or more rounds, etc.

Please remove that attack, you only had a Move action left in the Round.

Also, Diagonals cost extra movement, double for every other. So moving Diagonal costs 5', 10', 5', 10'. I moved him as far as he could go.

Both javelins find their mark with wet thwaks as the punctured the massive corpse, it seem unphases as it shambles forward swinging the massive mace at Conqus... the massive weapon almost flattents Conqus, but at the last second he dodges out of the way, at the same moment one of the statues springs to life and launches a bolt of fire at him sending him reeling...

Are you sure you want to retreat, it'll trigger an AoO and the Ogre is fast enough to cast you and attack again, I had speed 30.

Also, both his for 21 damage. When you roll Croats, it is just the damage die, not modifiers that get doubled.

As Conqus lands two solid blows on the Ogre he attempts to dodge the Zombie Ogre's retaliation... The blow rocks Conqus putting him on he back foot...

Ouch, hits again and massive damage! Maybe action sure pray for the best time, or use those Maneuvers, etc!

Edit: Might I suggest attempting both attacks as pushing attacks, if one succeeds and it fails its Str Save you can back up 30' and prevent the Ogre Zombie from attacking for a turn. Probably the best chance of surviving the round IMO without hoping to kill it outright with your actions urge.

I guess they aren't immune to frightened, crazy. If either works you've got a good chance to survive the round. Push home away and your move takes you out of range.

Why didn't you just attack twice more, you had a good chance to just finish it off. And yes, both stacks hit, you need a 2 to hit, haha.

Conqus manages to put the fear of death into the undead Ogre as he drives it back... It pauses for a second refusing to close the gap... just as three of the statues again spring to life and douse Conqus in flame, he is at the end of his rope, a single misstep and he will be no more...

Round 14, assuming the Statues don't kill you... Wow, a 19, they almost crit, and dealt 8 damage, you are at 1/58HP, good thing a single hit will probably take the Zombie out, it is at 8/85. Step up, attack twice, don't roll 1s!

Conqus' ferocious attacks tests the undead 'so constitution... And his gambit pays off as he is able to press the undead brute till it falls lifeless once more. Immediately the Arena feels more peaceful and crowd can he heard a bit easier...

You also get your Con Mod for each of those Hit Dice. You can use the rest of your Hit dice as well. May not be a bad Idea to try and get to full health to make it through Wave 3.

By my count you healed 42 HP for 43/58. You really had terrible rolling for healing.

It is round 22, you ahve all your actions, and are located at the center pedestal, see map.
