Best non-evil canine to melee as?

For in game reasons I need the most optimized canine to Polymorph into. One of our party will have to battle an uber winter wolf to be leader of the pack.

AFB but Legendary Wolf from MM2 would probably do the trick?

Freke and Gere (Odin’s wolves) are Neutral; 14 HD

Hound of the Hunt (MM5) is CN; 20 HD

Brachyurus (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/monsters/brachyurus.htm) is LN; 38 HD

Alas, the caster is 10th level. Also the spell has a maximum HD limit of 15.

After some thought and divination; we have decided to take off and nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

We won't be able to gain the pack as an ally, but we will be able to kill the Advanced Monster of Legend Winter Wolf....it can't fly. At least we hope it can't.

My first thought was Blink Dogs, but I think that polymorph misses out on most of what makes them so good. Hound Archon might also be a possibility, but again, polymorph.
