Alright, so it's been talked about, but I don't know if this was mentioned by anyone else officially. So here I am, officially pitching the idea.

Who'd be interested in a Northeast meeting? By Northeast, I mean New England, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey…anything above the Mason/Dixon Line, really.

If there's enough interest, I'll volunteer to be the organizer.

I guess I don't qualify, living in Maryland ;)

England is so much better than New England... i mean at least think of an original name...:smallwink:

I could go, but I probably won't be able to.

Besides, I think the only person in this area I might know is Iames. :P

That's why it's called a Meet-n-Greet. :smalltongue:

Hehe... The problem now comes to the "antisocial nature" thing I've been repetivley diagnosed with. :smalltongue:

Maryland so counts.

I mean, hell...I'll petition for Virginia to count, and it so doesn't.

What? It can be both northeast and southeast...I'm in the middle dangit.

AngelSword
2007-06-02, 02:50 AM
Well, I'm not going to forbid anyone from attending, if they're willing to travel to Connecticut.

Lykan

Where in CT?

AngelSword
2007-06-02, 03:24 AM
No more than 30 minutes from New Haven. So, should anyone feel compelled to fly here, you can go right into Tweed, and not be far from the action!*

*By action, I, of course, mean, "gaming, talking about gaming, and talking about whatever else strikes our fancy."

South of Boston. No car, no one I know who could drive me... I feel like I'm missing out on a great opportunity...

Hm... I might be able to go, but that would mean becoming less of a shut in.

Good ole' NH. If this happens, and I somehow get my 'rents to not whine about taking the beater someplace, I might be able to come.

I'd like to say that I'd drive down from Boston.

But I doubt I actually would.

Come to Boston?

Well, if you want it in Boston, I would have to forfeit organizer duties to you. Lower CT is within my reach, thus why I was organizing it down here.

Alarra
2007-06-08, 06:36 PM
Ah come on Azzy...you can come down to Connecticut.

You know, depending on how close, timewise, this ends up being to the SE one, Google tells me that New Haven is closer to me than JC, TN, so it's conceivable, even though I'm from south of the M/D line (barely).

(Side note, I'm starting to see a lot of people from the DC/NoVA metropolis area. Almost as many as are in JC, TN. :smallcool: )

I'm in BROOOOOOOKLYN!

And have limited traveling ability.

Alarra
2007-06-08, 06:57 PM
I thought this one was going to be a fair bit later than the SE one....maybe in October? Was that the thought AS? Admittedly, I need to stop feeling the need to organize all of these.

Rex Idiotarum
2007-06-08, 07:01 PM
October? Hm... As much as I'd like to meet some of you, I'd probably not be able to get outta state.

AngelSword
2007-06-08, 08:39 PM
Yeah, Octoberish. This month is way too soon, and my schedule gets really hectic after that. I mean, there's the Southeast meetup at the end of this month, something in July that I can't remember, the Smashing Pumpkins concert at the beginning of August, GenCon in the middle (hopefully), and Dragon*Con at the end, and heading to Lackland AFB to have more work done on my tattoo in September for my birthday. So, October is the earliest this'd happen.

Maldraugedhen
2007-06-09, 08:24 AM
Hmm, October I'm out at RIT, so it'll have to be a weekend affair if I'm going to show up, AND I'll need to figure out other transport.

I should be able to do October.

Hephaestus
2007-06-11, 03:44 PM
October, that actually gives me a chance of having a ride there. By then I'll probably have a car, and my license! Connecticut (or wherever it is) see you then!

AngelSword
2007-07-11, 07:17 AM
So, what weekend would be best for people? I'll be here the entire month, so any weekend would be fine.

Maryland so counts.

After living in NoVa for 23 years, I'll second this. Maryland's so full of Yankees, they need to redraw the Mason-Dixon :smalltongue:

AngelSword

After a bit of consideration, I am postponing this to January, at the earliest. I am still (most likely) going to be here all month, but I'd feel bad without having appropriate crash space for people.

So, once I get my house, I'll resume planning.

Hmm, well I have realatives in conecticut, and live in NY. But my parents wouldn't be down with it

Zeb The Troll

I'm still in. At this point in time, any weekend is good for me, but the sooner we decide which one the better I'll be able to plan my other regular weekend activities around it.

I could go, but I probably won't be able to.

Besides, I think the only person in this area I might know is Iames. :P

And not even me anymore, now that I moved out to New Mexico.

You guys would have to wait for that, wouldn't you? :smallmad:

I am defintly in for a Northeast meet-up. I live South of of Boston. So if someone needs to hitch a ride with me its no big deal. Also Im not one of those Massachusett people who see CT as being so far away. That could be due to me driving there every other weekend to play DnD with my friends. That and my parents live in that state.

So let me know who needs a ride from this area and I will be more than willing to fill my car up with fellow geeks and nerds. Wouldn't be the first time.

Weekends will probably be best and any time of the year... it really doesn't matter for me.

Alarra
2007-09-17, 01:54 PM
I'm certainly still up for this too, any weekend. Not that I live in the northeast exactly...but yeah, I'll come anyway.

*waves* I live in Waterbury. Used to live in New Haven. Probably not getting out of this hellhole any soon, so I'm free whenever you want to meet up. I could probably go anywhere in the county, but not much farther.

Good ol' MA here.

Where was this meetup again? :smallconfused:

I might be (finally) getting my license in a bit, so I could drive there.. Maybe. ^^;

Wait, I can't say that here, can I?
O! Well... You'll never know what my balls are made of...

Well, since I was planning on hosting it, it'd be in the southern part of CT, close to New Haven.

If someone else wishes to host it, and host it sooner, then it'd be up to them.

AngelSword
2007-12-27, 04:55 PM
Well, with new developments arising from the DoD, it seems the housing issue will quickly become a nonissue. Yet, as with anything else I've endured, nothing is as clean-cut as I'd hope.

Planning is resumed.

Oh Sweet Jesus! The meet-up I've been advocating for! I didn't know you guys had started planning!

Now I just need to persuade my parents that not everyone on the internet is a pedophile...

What town in CT is it, again?

Well, I think I should ask that you don't attend, since you're probably going to want to punch me after I tell you that I've been planning it since June. :smalleek:

Since I'll be living in Milford (or thereabouts), that's where it'll be. I imagine I'll at least have floor space to loan out as crash space.

Well, I think I should ask that you don't attend, since you're probably going to want to punch me after I tell you that I've been planning it since June.

I am so frighteningly bad at telling when people are kidding over the internet. Are you saying I shouldn't come because you guys have been planning for so long it would be rude for me to show up? 'Cause I was just saying, "Wow, how did I miss this," not, "Wow, how could you mother-lovers not tell me."

@V: Got it. :smallbiggrin:

AngelSword
2007-12-28, 12:02 AM
It was meant to imply, "When you find out it's been in the works since June, you'll want to hurt me." Hence, in fear of me getting a boot to the head, I implied that you shouldn't attend (purely in jest, mind you).

Hehe... The problem now comes to the "antisocial nature" thing I've been repetivley diagnosed with. :smalltongue:

I just wanted to point out that anti-social implies some sort of socio/psychopathic behavior as opposed to simply lacking skills needed for human interaction or an apathetic attitude towards human interaction

Oh man. Totally in this. I'm from central Mass (Westborough, if you must know) and would love meeting up with a group of GitPers.

I'm assuming a gaming marathon will ensue, so should we plan on bringing anything? RPG books? Energy drinks? LARP gear (please say no)?
