While waiting through the comic i was scanning through the past 100 or so comics and noticed that whenever a goblin or hobgoblin opens their mouth their teeth get smaller and I demand to know why this is happening

so... does anyone have any reasons...

Actually, I haven't noticed that before. But now that you mention it, this amazes me even more at Giant's attention to detail:

When Hobgoblins/Goblins open their mouth, assuming they have lips, their lips should pull over their fangs a little bit more, as lips tend to do, therefore concealing their fangs a little bit, so they look smaller.

Open and close your mouth and see where your lips move in relations to your teeth. You'd be amazed.

Or it could be the perspective. The jaw pulls down and back when you open your mouth.

What's scarier is that when the humans open their mouths they don't have any teeth. :smalltongue:

I think it is very scary that all humans, dwarf, half-orc and gnomes have no ears...

Easy that. Nale = Mr. Blonde, and he doesn't do half measures.

So... we're discussing teeth now?

Hmm, maybe I should research the effects of 'Latecomicium Forumius Loco'.

Agreed. I also find it somewhat amusing that we're discussing the teeth of stick figures... who are missing noses and ears

Noticed that too  I thought it was an optical illusion since the black lines around the white teeth disappear on black background, effectively making them appear smaller.

Either way, as mentioned earlier, an open mouth shows only the edge of the fangs.
