I know a character can do magical research. Can, for example, a character learn/create a spell variant from another class.
Example a Sorcerer created a modified Eldritch Blast. But instead of an attack roll for each bolt, it is like fire bolt: 1 attack roll and/or does 1d8 damage and additional 1d8 at each level of cantrip progression
Or Bigby's Hand, but only able to create one of the 3 forms
