They are probably the least important characters in the comic. They only count because of their numbers. Their outfits and even their faces show so little diversity that it becomes impossible to tell Hobgoblin Warrior #1 from Hobgoblin Warrior from Strip #433, Panel 3, may he rest in peace. One of them will get their time to shine. This is the Ultimate OOTS Cookie Cutter Nameless Soldier Tournament!
With the pool rounds over, let's update that picture. The candidates in the pools are now placed in order of number of votes, and the winners are placed in their next matches.

A few thing we can learn from this:
1: It's not easy being green.
2: It's better to be a smiley facing right (from the perspective of the viewer) than left. While 11 of the 20 entrants faced left, 5 of the 8 who got through faced right.
3: It helps to smile on your smiley.
4: A good ninja wins, but draws as little attention to itself as possible.
5: The best row to be in in the original picture (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?461542-The-Ultimate-OOTS-Cookie-Cutter-Nameless-Soldier-Tournament-pool-phase-week-2) was one row from the bottom. The middle row also performed above average in number of residents getting through, but they probably just stole their votes from that orc or something.
Anyway, on to this weeks votes. This week we'll be dealing with A1 VS B2 and D1 VS C2.
We'll get to the actually plausible fight matchups next week.
That means our first matchup is:

Wight versus Goblin Ninja
The childlike shoe loving wights outperformed their undead colleagues by leaps and bounds in the pool phase. They are now facing the ultimate in sneaky. Undetectable by any horribly failed spot check and with a lineage going back to the beginning of the comic, the goblin ninja is ready for a fight.
The second match is:

Hobgoblin versus EoT soldier.
The Hobgoblin warrior doesn't really need an introduction, as it is probably the most omnipresent face in all of the order's adventures. But while they were establishing Gobbotopia, their rivals were founding the not so free City of Doom. The weepies have their sad face on and are ready to make the hobgoblins weep.
Voting in both of these matches happens by embedding the appropriate portrait(s) in your post, or by naming the nameless contestant(s) of your choice. In case of a tie the last vote that was cast before the deadline determines the winner. The loser of a match immediately leaves the tournament, unnamed soldier style.
The deadline for this week of voting is 00:00 GMT the night of Friday the 4th upon Saturday the 5th of December. Saint Nicholas is bringing us a couple of winners this year. [/localized in-jokes, maybe I am a hipster after all]
