Best Signature Spells for a Magelord

Title says it all, really. For the standard Wizard / Rogue / Magelord, what spells are the best picks?

This is mostly theoretical, as I have yet to build any other specifics for the character.

Since magelord deals with manipulating metamagic on the fly, your metamagic loadout will go a long way toward dictating the sorts of spells you'll want to master.

Edit: previous advice really only applies to level 10 magelord. My advice would be, "what sort of spells would you take as a sorcerer?" A shadow spell wouldn't go amiss.
