Hello everyone :)

I am playing DnD for the first time as a dm and was thinking about introducing the following feat:

Increase your CHA by 1 and choose one of the following:
1. You can use a channel divinity twice per day. You have to choose which one, and you can only change it once per long rest. You also only regain it by doing a long rest.
2. Choose a Channel Divinity of another class or sub section. You can use this channel divinity once every short rest, but every time you use it after the first time, you have to make a Intelligence Saving throw or become insane for one minute. You will not understand any language, you are unable to end this state by yourself (eg. with Cleansing touch). Every turn is taken over by the DM. At the start of each turn, you can make another saving throw.

Too strong? Too weak? Feedback is appreciated :))

The problem is you made a feat which really only benefits those without the class feature but it isn't clear when you do use it must you always make an Intelligence save since you have conflicting language. Not only is it a huge drawback only one class and subclass are good with them. Additionally it doesn't have a save DC.

Increase your CHA or WIS by 1 and choose one of the following:
1. You can use a channel divinity twice an additional time per day rest. You have to choose which one, and you can only change it once per long rest. You also only regain it by doing a long rest.
2. You gain the ability to use channel divinity once per long rest if you don't already possess that class feature. Choose a any one Channel Divinity ability of another class or sub section use from a Cleric Domain or Paladin Oath, you gain that use for Channel Divinity. You can use this channel divinity once every short rest, but every time you use it after the first time, you have to make a Intelligence Saving throw or become insane for one minute. You will not understand any language, you are unable to end this state by yourself (eg. with Cleansing touch). Every turn is taken over by the DM. You might also want to restrict the level 6 channel divinity cleric features. The whole read thoughts suggestion thing is pretty dang good for half a feat.

A good way would be to restrict it by their character level. This way it prevents variant human shenanigans.

Yeah, an extra casting of Suggestion per long rest is probably worth half a feat on its own even if you ignore the rest of the crazy riders on that feature. The same goes for the Tempest Cleric's ability to maximize lightning damage when you can take it on a character that actually gets Lightning Bolt.
