Storm of Swords
Evocation [Force]
Level: Wiz/Sor 6
Components: V, S,
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft+10ft per caster levels)
Target: One square per caster level; see text
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Reflex negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

Multiple Longswords of force appear in front of you and fly straight toward the intended target. The spell creates one longsword per caster level, max 20, each dealing 1d8 to the first creature/object it hits up to the target square. The longswords may be used to target multiple squares, however, each square must be adjacent to another targeted square.

Let me know what you think, thanks.

1.It needs a damage cap.
2.It probably should be lower level.
3.it seems more like conjuration than abjuration.

Change it to a level six spell. Cap it at 20 swords. done.

Although, on the plus side, it can hit the Monster of the Masses.

On that note, should you decide its divine, or can be either arcane or divine, consider allowing it to take the form of the dieties chosen weapon instead, or the form of a the dancing sword of a Solar.

How about a set number of Swords that do 1D8 + Caster Level Damage? Or given, that it's a storm, 1D8+Caster Level Damage to everyone in an area effect?

Because unless you put a rediculuos number of swords it would not the spell level back too much.

Thanks for the critiques, I put the classes who get it and a damage cap , should have had it the first time.

The reason I have it as an evocation instead of conjuration is that the only spells I know with the [force] descriptor are evocation, magic missile, force cage, etc.

Hopefully it's better now.

Huh? Not quite clear on what you mean, but on reflection I agree that it wouldn't be causing enough damage the way I'm thinking.
