This legendary blade was forged not from steel, but from the same shadowstuff as that which wizards use to fuel their illusions, granting it greater power as the Shadow Plane grows closer to the Material.
Shadow’s Edge effective enhancement bonus increases as the light level approaches dim light, functioning as a +1 weapon in bright light, +2 in normal light or darkness, and +1 in supernatural darkness. In dim light Shadow’s Edge functions as a +3 transformative weapon. As Shadow’s Edge is crafted from illusions it lacks a true form the way other transformative weapons do and retains its last form whenever it leaves an area of dim light. In addition merely carrying the blade brings the world closer to the Shadow Plane, allowing Shadowdancers to use their Shadow Jump ability as a swift or move action if they chose and making all illusions with the shadow descriptor 10% more real.
How do you think I should price this item and how balanced do you think it is for a party of 14th level characters?
