Ok first off i know there have been a few threads about building a wizard and i have had a look but any help here would be great guys and gals.

Right basicaly we are going to start a new camp soon and i have decided to be a caster as i have not been one before.

So for a race i was looking at Sharakim as wizard is favoured and i like the sound of them but i was thinking of just going human for the feat. Also i have been looking into removing my familiar for the use of Abrupt Jaunt as there will only be a few of us so i can get out of trouble fast.

I dont think i want to specialise as i want to be a summoner and damager. but i dont know what feats and things would go well with it along with prestige classes. as we are going to start about lvl 12 i think.

We can also decide what items and everything we have collected along the way and i have never gon that deep before in character creation. Anyone got a wizard build or know what is really good to do up to a lvl that high?

Ow on the prestige thing i did look at becoming an alienist to make my summons Pseudonatural as they get a large buff.

We are playing 3.5e core.

It might be an idea to re-post this in the 3.5 sub-forum, simply because you will get more responses. You can get the mods to move it instead by reporting your original post and asking them.

None of those things are core.

If you are new to casters, playing a wizard will not pan out well for you. They need a lot of book-keeping, and have many moving parts.

Alienist sucks, since it reduces what creatures you can summon, and Pseudonatural is a weak template (the one in the SRD is not the one you get). Malconvoker is an awesome summoning prestige class, on the other hand.

Abrupt Jaunt...I dont think i want to specialise
Only Conjuration specialist wizards can take Abrupt Jaunt. However, that's fine - conjuration is a great school for both summoning (the summon monster and planar binding lines) and damage (with orb of acid and its elemental friends).

Assuming '3.5 core' means '3.5 first-party' instead - based on PrC preferences - a good wizard summoner might be a (focused) specialist (abrupt jaunt, spontaneous divination) conjurer 5/master specialist 4/thaumaturgist 5/malconvoker 9 (just in that order). Just be sure to pick lesser planar ally as your master specialist bonus spell, and your prerequisites fulfill themselves - you can also lose two wizard levels and use some form of heightening to get a fourth-level bonus spell when you only have third-level slots.
