So I designed monster stats for Santa (http://worldbuilderblog.me/2015/12/08/5e-santa-stats/) and his minions (http://worldbuilderblog.me/2015/12/10/more-holiday-monsters/), but I needed a reason for my PCs to fight him. So I created an ultimate mind control item that an empyrean on the naughty list got its hands on. After centuries of getting coal, he's taking it out on everyone else by taking over Santa's mind.
