Are there any playable illithid races, or any good homebrew?

There are illithid heritage feats (it sort of makes sense - an illithid polymorphed into a guy and did the nasty with your mom, and now you're growing tentacles out of your face). Combined with the Flayerspawn Psychic prestige class, you get a fairly decent mind flayer - the mind blast of a true illithid a few times per day, four tentacles (Illithid Grapple taken 4 times) and the ability to eat delicious brains, albeit not in an instantly fatal way (Illithid Extraction). Your psionics will be vastly mightier than a regular mind flayer's, even if you do lose 4 MLs.
