I think AEG has a horned helmet that also gives x2 speed. Combined, they actually get around the specific multiplier rules, for x4 IIRC.

Arms and Equipment Guide. It's 3.0 material, IIRC, so check with your DM about anything that might need updating.

Both Ghostwalk and AEG are 3.0 material, and they do great in showing exactly why did 3.0 get revised(though some classes got hit HARD by the nerfhammer of doom +5).
