Ardent Help Wanted! D&D 3.5e Psionics

Hello everyone! I'm wanting to be able to create an Ardent character for D&D 3.5e. Our DM is well known for giving out XP points generously, so we should be levelling up quite rapidly. With this in mind, I really want my character to have access to the Metamorphosis ability to make the most out of Metamorphic Transfer as soon as possible to be used with a Psicrystal. Does anyone have any idea how I should plan out my build so I can get access to this as soon as possible? I'm using Expanded Psionics Handbook and Complete Psionics as reference.

Just do it normally. Get Freedom and Life for your mantles, then at second level either something with Save-or-Suck's or defensive mantles to improve your combat capabilities, and at 5th level, you get natural world to be able to choose metamorphosis at 7th level. Later you should get time or fate mantles, those have pretty good high-level powers.
