Ok, I'm working on something and I thought I had found some perfect creatures to go along with it, hell cats and hell hounds... but despite their theme and appearance they are lawful instead of chaotic.

So what I'm needing is chaotic evil outsiders with at least a vague resemblance to a feline or canine. Anyone know of such?

Technically, as the Nine Hells are Lawful by nature, the alignments are perfectly appropriate. :smallwink:

How about... Howlers (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/howler.htm)? If we go outside the Outsider type, there are Hieracosphinxes (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/sphinx.htm#hieracosphinx).

P.s. Yes I know they're not Outsiders, maybe we can pretend for this.

Just change the Hellhounds alignment to C/E... that should solve the problem..

(Not much help if you only have 3.5 books of course.)

You could just apply the fiendish template to a (dire?) cat or dog.

There are the chaotic evil Vorrs in Fiend Folio, as well as the were-Vorr-shapeshifter Canomorph Vultivores and the Blood Fiends (technically undead (extraplanar), but made from dead Outsiders (Chaotic, Evil)).

Also, there's the Marruspawn Abomination from Sandstorm. It's (native), though, and at CR 19 it might not be so helpful. The text says "any evil", but it looks pretty chaotic to me (since it's basically unbound rage given form).

Jariliths(MM2) and Vorres(FF) are your best bet, frankly. Just get the 3.5 update for them and you're set.

I think a Hell Cat would implode if given the Anarchic template. Its a baatezu so suddenly turning chaotic would sever it's ties to the Nine Hells in a rather abrupt way.

As for replacements...fiendish half-red dragon dire wolves and fiendish air element(This may be an out-dated source)/shadow dire puma?

Howlers are sort of feline.
