Am curious what Pathfinder spells and/or equipment would be especially useful for adventuring in space?

While the tech guide might be your first instinct to stop at, the book Distant Worlds actually has a handful of useful things. Mass/Planetary Adaptation is like Planar Adaptation but for hostile planets. And the void of space, which is cool. It's the useful catchall spell for hostile environments. The pressure suit is a less versatile magic item, but doesn't cost much and is easier to invest in. Also, its somewhat fragile.

People of the Stars is also a useful resource; it has a few of the spells mentioned in the above book, with a few others that may prove useful. It has Ointment of Void Sealing is another alternative for survival, but it can be a bit pricey, since its expendable. There is also the REALLY cool Traveler's Translator; a cheap item that translates for a person, and can be used to communicate with others.

Thank you for the detailed response.

Any core spells or items if particular interest for space adventures?

In addition to the Distant Worlds stuff mentioned above, Life Bubble (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/advanced/spells/lifeBubble.html) is a good spell since it insulates you from a vacuum.

Starfaring Robes (http://archivesofnethys.com/MagicWondrousDisplay.aspx?FinalName=Starfaring%20R obes) are an expensive option for visiting new planets/solar systems.

I would make a kinectist for a space game. One of the types they have allows them to survive the vacume of space, though I would end up going more with the Force via, well Aether
