We all the typical story of Knights and Trolls, of Dungeons and Dragons, but that was the past. The "Iron Age" of Fantasy. Where a Sword of Fire was considered one of the most powerful weapons a Warrior to wield into battle. But it is now the 120th Century and things have gotten much more advanced since then.

Back in the day, much of the races didn't know what the rest of the world was like or what it would eventually become. The Humans and Halflings thought they biggest thing they'd have to deal with were the occasional Dragon that'd appear from the heavens itself to reek havok among the world, but as soon as they learned how to build their first Jammer, the secrets of the universe began to spread themselves out for all to see.

The majority of the conquerable cosmos was colonized by the Sun Elves, who had been seeking as much territory as their hands could hold since they arrived in the 50th Century after leaving the Feywild. Not much is known about the Galaxy before they showed, but the Dwarfs had already had Citadels floating in the Asteroid belts before anyone else even knew how to build a Jammer. Not that it mattered since the Dwarfs seems to almost vehemently against expanding like the Elves did. The Gnomes had arrived around the same time as the Elves but seemed to be content settling on a small planet named Vermire that sat stuck in orbit between two suns. about 10 centuries after the Sun Elves had settled the galaxy and the Drow had colonized the Rogue Planet of Hav'razd, the Orcs soon arrived from the Feywild, jealous that the Elves had already started taking everything for themselves, they began waging war against the Elves, which would have collided into a Galactic level war, had the Dragons not stepped in and tried to pick a fight with them both. a Three way war began that kept all three forces in stable balance for as long as it could possibly be helped

Conflict between the Elves and Orc and Dragons would wage on for centuries until around the 77th century, where the mighty Dragon seemed to all but vanish. Some believe it might have been because the Dragon's homeworld sat too close to the Shadowfell's Veil, but no one could survive a trip into it without being lost forever, so expeditions were eventually canceled. After that, the Sun Elves and Orcs waged war for another thousand years until one day, Orcish and Elven colonies started seeing a new visitor start popping up: Humans. The humans changed the tied of the war almost instantly. They eventually sided with the Elves and the Orcs were forced to sign a Peace Treaty.

After the War between the Orcs and elves ended and the Dragons had long since been forgotten, the Humans and Elves decided to solidify their Peace with a Union: The United Federation (unoriginal name, sorry, names aren't my strong suit). Eventually other races joined their union, from the Genasi to the Half-Orcs to the Dwarfs. Then, at around the 115th Century, a newcomer arrived from the Feywild: The Eladrin, elves still carrying their Fey Heritage strongly. They found kinship in with the Gnomes and joined the United Federation, when only a Century later, the Gnomes made the worst mistake ever. They created the Warforged. Soon after their robot servants were invented, war broke out between the Gnomes and the Warforged and the Gnomes and any remaining eladrin were kicked off the planet. After that the Warforged cut off all ties to the rest of the cosmos and the United Federation passed a law outlawing any self-aware machinery, warforged or otherwise.

Now it's the 120th century, things are relatively peaceful, for now.

The idea of my setting is to imagine a world where magic has been so sufficiently advanced that it allows for a Mass Effect/Star Wars style universe. Weapons themselves have remained relatively stagnant due to the nature of technology. "guns" as in weapons that use gunpowder don't exist because the elements needed to make it aren't as common as in our world. Instead wands are used a lot, though due to the limiting nature, not many are capable of using Wands. Most soldiers in battle are Eldritch Knights to allow for the use of Wands in battle though Elves always one up the other races by having Bladesingers around instead, though the Orcs may be secretly filling their ranks with Rage Mages. More advanced weapons like Plasma Grenade Launchers exist, but the United Federation is keeping an incredibly tight lip on this level of technology
