Just read the SRD on vampires - I cannot see anything about them being vunerable to sunlight?
I've always just assumed they were, but I cannot find the rule governing it. Help?

Straight from the SRD: "Exposing any vampire to direct sunlight disorients it: It can take only a single move action or attack action and is destroyed utterly in the next round if it cannot escape. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/vampire.htm)"

Aaargh I've read that text over and over again, and it takes your link to the EXACT SAME TEXT for me to find it. Thanks. Sorry for the inconvenience.

This brings up an interesting question. Are there any feats/spells/magic items/templates/PrC's or anything that can allow a vamp to overcome that and their other weaknesses in published materials?

Yes. Vampire lords care nothing for garlic, holy symbols, or mirrors, can cross over water and swim, are not killed by stakes. In sunlight, a vampire lord receives penalties and cannot use its supernatural powers, but can walk around just fine.

Vampire lords can also control the weather to make it foggy and overcast.

Also, Cloak of Dark Power should protect a vampire, albeit only a few minutes per casting.

Also, the spell's visual effects are going to make it pretty obvious you are something that doesn't like light, which should arise suspicion.

Don't forget that magic stone that Strahd has up in castle Ravenloft as per "Expedition to Castle Ravenloft"

Pathfinder also has Protective Penumbra (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/p/protective-penumbra), which shouldn't be too much trouble to back-port (and also, looking at both spells, looks like a 2nd level, 10 minute/level version of Cloak of Darkness...)

Here is the template on the WotC website: http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mm/20021018a

In Libris Mortis there is a feat called "Endure Sunlight" which allows a character to be in the sunlight without suffering its effects for a number of rounds equal to 1 + your Charisma Bonus.

Go Planar Shepherd, select Irian the Eternal Day; at capstone you will turn into native outsider, and wouldn't be harmed by sunlight anymore

Planar Vanguard (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20031219a)'s Planar Survival (arguably) can do it too

3.0 version of Daylight Adaptation worked for Vampires too

Prismatic Dragon (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/monsters/dragonEpic.htm#prismaticDragon) is immune to light even after the vampirisation
