Heyas, thought I might start a fun little compilation of non-D&D based comics that nevertheless may feature a few strips based on the game. Got any? Just post and I'll add'em in.

8-bit theatre is final fantasy based, but Red Mage thinks the world is run by D&D rules. So it might qualify, I don't know.

A'ight, some clarification:

If the comic is about D&D, or fantasy game in general with alot of mentioning of D&D, I consider it D&D based.

Second, saying 'some references in this comic' doesn't do alot of good. Most comics have thousands of strips and I don't have time to look through them all. If you got a link, great, if not... get on wit' yer.

Understood. Apologies.

Am I allowed to post the Something Positive ones in here? You know, the "Why does she get to play the woman" "Here are two good reasons. You won't get to see the third", the whole "Redneck tree" thing, the cleric-halfling connection...

I think this is fine:
http://www.somethingpositive.net/arch/sp05032002.gif

Please note - that is ONLY the image of that day's comic. DON'T go to the next page. It has the stats for the Redneck Tree, and that's not for the faint of heart!

Here's one on my regular reading list:

http://www.darkencomic.com - Darken - While not actually based on DnD rules and such, it makes use of a number of DnD references in the monsters, the locations, the gods, etc.

Penny Arcade (my personal favorite) has some here and there loosly tied with D&D, but there is one in particular where they actualy play. Gabe, as you might notice, (http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2004/01/26) doesn't enjoy role playing.

Actually, Penny Arcade today references D&D.

I really like Heroes of Lesser Earth (http://heroesoflesserearth.com/blog.php), and it's totally a D&D comic. The guy who does it even says he's a big OotS fan.

Well, thanks, but I specifically said I'm 'not' looking for D&D-based comics.

Loserz has had a few. Here's the arc I remember:

OMG! NOOB! - http://www.loserzcomic.com/index.php?id=260

He Likes to Mix It Up - http://www.loserzcomic.com/index.php?id=262

Don't Fight the Dice - http://www.loserzcomic.com/index.php?id=264

Keep Focused - http://www.loserzcomic.com/index.php?id=265

Then Again - http://www.loserzcomic.com/index.php?id=266

Alright, added all of those, plus a few more from Real Life.

Something Positive is seriously underrepresented. You have:

Saving Throw vs. Having a Life (http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp01182002.shtml)
PeeJee & Dragons (http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp04282002.shtml) (a six-part series; the one in your compilation is the last one)
XXX LIVE NAUGHTY HALFLINGS XXX (http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp05212002.shtml)
Girlie D&D (http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp08192002.shtml) (a six-part series)
Game Night (http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp12012003.shtml) (parts 2 and 3 of a seven-part series)
Critical Miss-tress (http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp02242004.shtml) (parts 1-4 of a seven-part series)
Crap. (http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp04152004.shtml)
A Comic as Lame as Easter Candy (http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp03272005.shtml)
The Dragon Queen (http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp06222006.shtml)

There might be a couple more that I missed. And that's just for D&D; there are story arcs for other RPGs as well.

Perhaps someone posted it and I just missed it... if so pardon my redundancy, however:

Nodwick.com has 2 web comics, one is Nodwick: fantasy set comic, the other is Full Frontal Nerdity: modern day set about a group of gamers... they don't exclusively play D&D and will take the Mickey out of just about anything, but Arron Williams the artist is a blast to read.
