They published this PDF as a free supplement, but I have failed miserable in finding it. Can anyone help, please?

It's a Tome of Horrors free supplement with dire animals.

I don't have the pdf, as I don't use many 3PP books. However, the copyright notice at the bottom of this page (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/dire-creature-cr-2-tohc) leads me to believe it might be at least part of what you're looking for.

You're right, that pdf pretty much doesn't exist on the internet anymore.

I actually didn't see Ruethgar's link when I posted the link that I found,
since I was in the process of making my post when his post
emerged.

It is strange that you weren't able to download Ruethgar's link though, it worked fine on my computer :)

But I can confirm the document found in both links are identical.
