View Full Version : Optimization Help with character concept. Force mage.

So, I want to make a character that specializes in force magic.

I'm thinking of starting as a warlock 2 for eldritch blast + agonizing blast and armor of shadows.

Then Abjuration wizard X for Force shield, either sword burst or mage hand (whichever I do not take with warlock), and main spellcasting.

So I'm wondering what I should do for ability scores and race.

Also, is this the best way? Would a magic initiate lore bard work better?

Please help. I mainly want a character that can have every force spell, most specifically the cantrips listed above, disintegration, wall of force, and as many others as possible, but is still optimized.

Will you need spiritual weapon from cleric too?

Eldritch Blast (magic initiate - warlock)
Sword Burst (magic initiate - warlock)
Magic Missile
Spiritual Weapon (steal from cleric)
Banishing Smite (steal from paladin)
Bigby’s Hand
Wall of Force
Forcecage (bard)
Mordenkainen’s Sword (bard)

Lore bard can cover these and still grab another secret. I don't know how many I missed though.

How about a Spell Sniper(Eldritch Blast) Sorcerer. Dragon Sorcerer unarmored AC is effectively always on force armor. Shield, magic missile, etc.

Spell sniper works wonders with Booming blade and a reach weapon (Like a whip)
