Bag of Holding and Bottle of Air

Couldn't you last forever in a Bag of Holding with a Bottle of Air? Could be useful for lower level hiding. (assuming you have food or that one ioun stone or that ring of sustenance etc.)

Sure, foes could still find the valuable bag of holding though. It pings on detect magic and it's roughly the size of a filled potato sack.

Also a bottle of air is expensive at low level. For most short term purposes the air that's already in the bag should be enough.

Even against scrying you get a mere +5 bonus on your will save for being on another plane. But that said when the foe sees your surroundings it may not tell him much. And when he tries to teleport to you it will fail.

The Bag of Holding rules state that they simply suffocate. It does not say they die due to lack of air. A creature that does not breathe air but is living would still suffocate. But changing your type to undead, thereby eliminating the "living" part can bypass the bag of holding. But unfortunatly Bottle of Air will not help you in this scenario...


If living creatures are placed within the bag, they can survive for up to 10 minutes, after which time they suffocate.
