Diabolus

http://www.lomion.de/cmm/img/diabolus.gif

From a particular section of the dimension known as the Demiplane of Dreams, the diaboli are a race that is feared by most humanoids, with their deep violet skin, legs resembling those found on goats and small horns on their heads, they resemble the way devils are traditionally portrayed in many cultures on the prime material. But while their appearance may be fearsome, the majority of the diabolus live peaceful lives in the Demiplane of Nightmares, and fight to contain the influence of the Far Realm on their home.

On their home plane, the diaboli build haphazard settlements that look more like ruins to those that live on the material plane, and society wise, the diaboli are of the belief that considering that as they cannot define one form of government better than another, they must simply life without them. Without this, the glue that bonds the society of the diaboli are the traditions and a strong sense of equality and fair play, and the credos “Do what thou wilt but harm none”.

The diaboli are a chaotic species, and most of them live life according to their own whims, and many of them become artists and philosophers, and those that make their way to the prime material often become sages of some renown.

This is the Diabolus, they originally were from the Mystara setting, and in 3.5 were introduced in a Dragon Magazine article. This version is converted from that article - the version from Mystara had features that make it hard to balance out.

The trident was converted from the 3.5 handbook.

Totaling at 6.5ish, it's balanced. What is Diabolic? Is it a language specific to this race, or is it Infernal? The tail communication seems pretty cool, but I would probably stipulate that it takes longer to communicate, similar to Thieves' Cant.

Martial Melee
4gp
1d6 piercing
4lb.
Thrown (range 20/60), versatile (1d8)
There's already a Trident. Is this supposed to be a replacement?

Diabolic is a language different from Infernal and unique to the diaboli, and the trident is an alternate version converted from 3.5, and I prefer that version.

The trident is an alternate version converted from 3.5, and I prefer that version.

One-Handed Martial Melee
Cost - 15 gp
Small Size - 1d6
Medium Size - 1d8
Critical - Χ2/20
Range Increment - 10 ft.
Weight - 4 lb.
Type - PiercingThe v3.5 Trident didn't have reach, but did have a throwing range. Your trident is strictly better than a longsword because it gives reach. It is also strictly better than any reach weapon because its two-handed damage is the same but it can be wielded by Small characters.

You're right, I misread the 3.5 weapons table. Took the reach quality off the weapon.
