Seriously, though, what's "bad taste" about EGS? After all, OOTS had Mr. Blue Cloak cleaving Samantha in half and killing her dad for good measure.

i dont think they exceed any moral boundries, it just reflects how the situation could be in a real setting, minus all the transforming and what not....

feel free to argue the transforming is real, just remember, when your in a straght jacket yelling they are real, ill be walkin around town, not in a straght jacket.

I love EGS. Started reading when Painted Black was in full swing. It was quite fun to see the most recent comics while i was still back in the Sister arc. no freakin clue what was going on.

Acually, my sister directed me to the comic and I didn't bother to read that. And it really doesn't bug me all that much, it's just unique, at least in the *very* limited bunch of strips that I read.

El Goonish Shive rocks! Lately it has been kinda slow though. I still like to go back and read through all the old comics as one big story, and that's a whole lot better than one comic at a time. I have also fallen in love with the "Dan" avatar. He's soooo cute! I just one hug him and squeeze him and luv him.......

Oh boy, I love El Goonish Shive, and I love to hate it as well... Man, I wish I could have a birthday party that lasts... a year and a half!

But seriously, except for a fairly sizable portion of the cast being shallow enough for one word descriptors, the comic is very funny, with Painted Black being the best story arc by about 10 million miles.
