I'm playing in an Underdark campaign, and my Goliath barbarian just reached level 3 with the Bear Totem. Looking at Beast Sense, I'm wondering if it would be possible to strap a small creature with Dark Vision to my head and then cast Beast Sense on it without any penalties.
Of course, going into a rage would immediately end the concentration, but for survival benefit of not being surprised by an enemy in pitch black, it would be considerably beneficial. I would have no problem with the DC 10 Constitution saves for concentration though.
***I just realized the creature has to be willing. I don't have animal handling, so time to use Speak with Animals and Intimidation.
