Focus... and... spells?

I've been wondering if the focus concept from the latest UA could/should/will migrate to spellcasting.

Concentration effectively limits excessive magical buffing, but it also eliminates many potentially useful, but second tier spells because they would occupy the precious concentration slot

If a few seldom used spells required not Concentration but focus...

Obviously the list would have to be carefully selected to avoid excesses.

Is anyone else wondering this?

nope. it isn't concentration. it's more like a stance.

I think the next best place to see the psionic discipline format for an ability would be for the way of the four elements monk. It would both give them some passive ability, and give them a more caster-like number of the narrowly useful discipline spells.
