Hi all,

In the past I've used the 'Sort' spell that allowed the caster to sort 21 small items by a specified order. I know this may be very situational but my new sorcerer is an OCD librarian and so it kind of fits.

Anyway... I cannot find the old reference to it in any of my notes and despite much trawling of the internet and all my sourcebooks, I cannot find it anywhere. Has anyone else used this spell and have a reference to it please?

I promise I'm not trying to introduce the Dewey Decimal system to the world!

prestidigitation can do it, but I do recall a similar spell somewhere, may have been a 2nd edition spell

It depends on the algorithm. Quicksorts and insertion sorts can be covered by cantrips, but if you go for a heapsort or block sort, you'll probably need first level spells or metamagic of some kind.

For 21 items even bubble sort wold be ok ;)

this (http://www.imarvintpa.com/dndlive/FindSpell.php) site might have an answer.

Easy Math, (brd lv0, Song & Silence p90) instantly counts things. Are you sure that's not what you're thinking of?.
It has a 10% margin of error though (20% if a skill check is failed)

Thanks for the replies. Finally found the spell in a lions den publication 'Secrets of the Planes'
