Class Features

Weapon and Armor Proficiency
A Dragonflame Dancer is not gain any new proficiencies.

Dragonflame Breath (Su)
Dragonflame Dancer levels stack with her levels of Dragonfire Adept for determining how many breath effects she have. For instance, a 2nd level Dragonfire Adept/3rd level Bard/3rd level Dragonflame Dancer would gain a breath effect as if she had just gained her 5th level in Dragonfire Adept; if she then took 3 levels of Dragonfire Adept she would not gain another breath effect at 5th level in that class, but when her combined levels in Dragonfire Adept and Dragonflame Dancer equals 10 they would gain a 10th level breath effect.

Draconic Bard (Sp)
Dragonflame Dancer stack with levels of Bard for determining how effective her Bardic Music effects are and for gaining different Bardic Music abilities. For instance, a Dragonfire Adept 2/Bard 3/Dragonflame Dancer 5 would be able to use Inspire Courage to give allies a a +2 morale bonus on saving throws, and would have access to the Suggestion ability.

Spellcasting
At each level except first, a Dragonflame Dancer may choose to advance her spells per day and spells known as if she had gained a new level in a spellcasting class she had previously belonged to or advance her invocations known and levels of invocations available as if she had gained a level of an invoking class she had previously belonged to. She must make this choice upon gaining the level, and may not change it at a later date.

Evasion (Ex)
Starting as second level, if a Dragonflame Dancer makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, she instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if the Dragonflame Dancer is wearing light armor or no armor. A helpless Dragonflame Dancer does not gain the benefit of evasion.

Cloak of Flames (Su)
The flames burn bright and warm within you. Beginning as second level, as long as she remains unencumbered and unarmored, the Dragonflame Dancer adds their Charisma modifier to her AC (minimum +1). In addition, at fourth level, she gains an additional +1 dodge bonus to her armor class, increasing by one at sixth and eighth level. These bonuses apply even to her touch and flat-footed armor classes. She loses these bonuses if she is rendered immobilized or helpless, when she wears any armor, ar she carries a medium or heavier load.

Fire Resistance (Ex)
These flames are no more than a warm tickle to you. At second level, the Dragonflame Dancer gains Fire Resistance 10. This increases to 20 at fifth level and 30 at eighth level. If the Dragonflame Dancer has the Draconic Heritage feat, this resistance can be substituted with the energy type associated with your ancestry's breath weapon, if it deals energy damage.

Breath Weapon (Su)
At third level and every 3 levels thereafter, a Dragonflame Dancer's breath weapon's damage increases by 1d6. In addition, at fifth level, her breath weapon doubles in range (this does not stack with the range increase granted by the base Dragonfire Adept class).

Dancing Dragon (Su)
As power flows through the wyrms of old, so too does it flow through you. Starting at third level, the Dragonflame Dancer may substitute the AC of herself or any ally currently affected by one of her bardic music abilities and still within range with a Perform (Dance) check a number of times per day equal to her Charisma modifier as an immediate action. This lasts until the beginning of the affected character's next turn. In addition, should the attack still hit, if it is an unarmed strike or natural weapon, the attacker takes an amount of fire damage equal to her Charisma modifier. If the Dragonflame Dancer has the Draconic Heritage feat or is a half dragon, this damage can be substituted with the energy type associated with your ancestry's breath weapon, if it deals energy damage. At seventh level, this damage becomes equal to double her Charisma modifier.

Bonus Speed (Ex)
At fourth and eighth level, the Dragonflame Dancer's base land speed increases by 10 feet.

Flame Sheath (Su)
Starting an ninth level, any weapon the Dragonflame Dancer or wields (including natural weapons) are considered to have the Flaming property and can overcome Damage Reduction as if they were magic weapons. She can supress this as a free action, but it resumes each round unless she supresses it again. If the Dragonflame Dancer has the Draconic Heritage feat or is a half dragon, this damage (and the corresponding enchantment) can be substituted with the energy type associated with your ancestry's breath weapon, if it deals energy damage.

Initiate of Fire (Su)
This is the ultimate form of beauty and power. At tenth level, the Dragonflame Dancer gains the [Fire] subtype, except they do not gain the vulnerability to Cold. She also gains a supernatural flight speed equal to her base land speed with Average maneuverability, her elemental power holding her aloft. In addition, whenever she uses her Perform (Dance) skill to use Dragonfire Inspiration, she may temporarily grant this subtype (sans the vulnerability) and flight speed to all allies affected by it. If the Dragonflame Dancer has the Draconic Heritage feat or is a half dragon, they may instead gain (and grant) the subtype of their draconic ancestor, as long as it is an elemental subtype. If it is the [Water] subtype, she instead gain a swim speed equal to their base land speed and the Amphibious trait. If it is the [Earth] subtype, she instead gains a burrow speed equal to half her base land speed. If it is the [Air] subtype, the fly speed is instead equal to twice your base land speed, with Good maneuverability.

Share Resistance (Sp)
When the Dragonflame Dancer uses her Dragonfire Inspiration ability, she can choose to give all her allies Resistance 15 to the type of energy she herself is resistant or immune to because of this class instead of the usual benefit.

Now, I created this class on a bit of a whim. It's basically a theurge for DFA and Bard, with a bit of Battle Dancer thrown in for flavor. In effect, this class is a mobile support, able to defend itself via a high Charisma modifier, modify an ally's AC, and eventually give all allies an elemental subtype or energy resistance for a limited amount of time. They also gain the ability to augment their own weapons with minor energy damage and some energy resistance, which helps them stay alive. Their bardic music and breath weapon are both boosted in this class, as are their spellcasting and invocations to a more limited extent.

This is a very cool concept. The class features are well thought out and really help the class support party members. My only suggestion for improvement would be to check the RAW text for the breath weapon range improvement to make sure that a character couldn't use a particular combination of Dragonfire Adept levels and Dragonflame Dancer levels to get a breath weapon with a longer range than would normally be possible from a straight Dragonfire Adept.

Small question can we use this puppy in 5e?

Small question can we use this puppy in 5e?

You'll have to find someone to convert it for you - 3.5 and 5e have several differences.

Well, thanks. I added a clause stating the range increase for the breath weapon won't stack with the DFA's increase.

I'm unfamiliar with 5e myself, so I wouldn't know how to convert it. If someone else wants to, though, go ahead.

Honestly, just multiclass DFA and Bard in 5E and you'll get this. Advancing both sets of features would be much too powerful in 5E.
