View Full Version : Optimization Pathfinder Psychic Gish?

How would something like a Fighter 1 / Blood Arcanist (Psychic) 6 / Hellknight 10 / Not Decided Yet play like?

Arcanist gives tier 1 spellcasting and the Psychic bloodline removes the possibility of Arcane Spell Failure chance. Annoyingly, I don't think it is possible to enter into the Eldritch Knight prestige class so I don't know what to do for the last few levels. Also, the bloodline abilities don't really synergise well with an Arcanist. One big problem I'm not sure about would be concentration checks.

Eldritch Knight would not work, as its psychic rather than arcane. The best psychic gish I've seen is the mindblade magus.

Yay but the Mindblade has limited spells known and doesn't reach up to 9th level spells.

Meanwhile, I've slightly cleaned up the build to Fighter 1 / Arcanist (Blood Arcanist (Psychic)) 4 / Soul Warden 2 / Hellknight Signifier 10 / XX 3

Soul Warden is used for the d8 HD and the full spellcasting progression.

If 3rd Party is on the table I like Psion8/Warder1/Psion+1/Awakened Blade10. 15BAB and ML17 IL15 by 20. If you are willing to give up your traits to +2 ML/IL traits it is ML19/IL17 at 20 meaning 9th lvl powers and maneuvers.

Maybe Wilder10/Zealot(Void Prophet)1/Awakened Blade9. ML 18 IL15 BAB 16.

Both of the builds you suggest have literally zero ability to cast psychic spells.

If it's not PFS (the levels you're talking about suggest that it isn't), talk to your DM and ask if they'll let you use Eldritch Knight with psychic casters. It's easier than pulling your hair out making everything fit like a waterlogged jigsaw puzzle, and just as likely to work.

Make sure you have a solid concept in mind when you speak with them, and be prepared to address concerns if the answer isn't an immediate 'no'.
